Thank You & Too Cheap Any Good?

Hi everyone. This is Heidi :)

Thank you so much for showing us love on this blog, Youtube, Keek, Facebook, Instagram. All of our social media networks.

We call ourselves the Makeup Company for the People. We find the products and tell you where to go buy them. Or we bring them to you, for a fee of course. But isn't that convenient???

And because of your support, our brand is getting some recognition. So woop woop!

Over the next few months, look out for bigger and better, photoshoots, events, makeup and cosmetics, accessories and maybe even a few surprises. I can divulge that in August, we celebrate our 2 year anniversary, and BOY have we come a long way! So stay tuned for MONTH LONG HAPPENINGS!!

Now onto 2 fave topics of mine. Eyeshadow and Lipstick.

Inexpensive eyeshadows -
These eyeshadows may be cheap, but with the right technique, they can work VERY well!
First question, clients, friends and randoms ask me is: "wha sorta makeup you does n'use?"

I respond, we go from Ruby Kisses, to Urban Decay to Ben Nye and more.

Then they ask, so you does use cheap tings at all?

Cheap is relative; it comes down to quality and pricepoint. I can tell you that I started off with Coastal Scents and BH Cosmetics palettes that I use TO THIS DAY! I love e.l.f and I have a healthy appreciation for Wet n Wild and Revlon eyeshadow quads. But everything has its place. So here's how I deal with 'cheap eyeshadows'...

Wet ya brush. Simple right? If that doesn't work, get a GOOD eye primer. I use a white paint by Graftobian. You can get Urban Decay Primer Potion or just use a sticky concealer like Milani Secret Cover Cream or M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer. Please bear in mind they may crease. But no worries, just use a light hand when applying your base.

Have fall out? Use a baby wipe, cotton wool or q-tip with water or makeup remover and BOOM, problem solved!

I also LOVE lip products. If you watched our Top Five Lipsticks, or our May Favourites videos you'd probably have guessed that by now lol.

I LOVE NYX. They make really smooth, pigmented and affordable products on a whole. If the lip stick/gloss doesn't make my lips peel after my first purchase... honey I'm sold!

If you like inexpensive lipsticks like me, you can try Nicka K, Jordana and Milani. I love a bargain!!

P.S: Every blog post I will include a photo from one of our photoshoots.

Here's Trudi. I used Revlon, e.l.f, Clinique High Impact Mascara, Ardell Glamour Lashes, and on her lips is Ruby Woo by M.A.C with a Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Hot Cocoanut on top. I lined her lips with NYX Hot Red, pretty huh??!??

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

With Key Ingredients:

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.

Can you tell which is which? No? Well, neither can I.
