If all my makeup disappeared...

Hi everyone!

Let's cut to the chase. This has been a long time coming.

If I lost/ had all my makeup (Heaven Only Knows, Jesus take the Wheel, My life would be OVER).

When Lucinda tagged me, I was instantly struck by a feeling of impending makeup doom. I was certain I would lose one of my faithful #brushes or an #eyeshadow I've had since Adam was a lad. I friends, am a hoarder.

So here are the top 10 things I would repurchase IMMEDIATELY and without hesitation. Father, let it NEVER happen, otherwise you would see Lucinda and I both either at HMP Dodd's or seeking SERIOUS counselling! LOL

1. Smash Box Full Exposure Mascara. One of THE best mid-high end Mascaras on the market. I use it on my clients AND myself. The brush is phenomenal for colour deposit. And I am in love with the formula, it is so forgiving. Smudge proof, and intense, my eyelashes take on a doll-like effect when I apply two/three coats ( I am a mascara trollop) and I LUV dramatic looking lashes!

2. My Real Techniques Brushes, I was BLOWN away by the quality, and given the price, I'd say Samantha Chapman is a #bawse. She knew that there was a market for inexpensive that withstood the battery of operations makeup artists, enthusiasts etc put there tools through. And let me tell you about life. These brushes are the truth. They are sturdy, have the right amount of weight, the bristles are firm, but deposit the product evenly.  Man look, buy them! They're awesome!!

3. Essence Stay Matte Powder and I am all out but as sooooon as my auntie or cuzzie comes in from Germany, I want bout five! It is great!!! It really does settle your foundation well and it's not over the top at all, as far as flashback no problems and I have used it with all forms of foundation.

4. Alll, every single last one of the Jolie Lipsticks. why? Because they are LIFE! Moisturizing, pretty and vibrant.

5. My Essence Stay Matte Loose Powder in translucent because it's just that good.

6. Urban Decay Deslick - Cause I'm an oil field.

7. Proactiv- The acne is a killer. AND as long as I am consistent it works. Yes this is not exactly a makeup item but with a bumpy canvas, the makeup looks crap!

8. Jordana Blush in Blushing rose. Cause it makes me feel all girly and pretty :)

9. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. It gives me allll kinds of everything. Is the perfect base and makes sure that my eyeshadows pop :D

10. Wet N Wild Vanity Palette - My go to palette for natural/ nude makeup looks. IT has the PERFECT brown shade for brows and .. it just works for me!!

:) xoxo, Heidi

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

With Key Ingredients:

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

Summer Standouts

It feels strange to talk about beauty products with all that's going on in the Caribbean. Our neighbours are going through some seriously trying times and I implore you to give whatever you can. 🙏

I didn't even realise that this was a running theme. Last year's was especially good since it featured some of my favourite combinations. Like last year, makeup seems to have taken a backseat this Summer.

There's only one item here that surprised me...but let me not get ahead of myself.
Y'all know exfoliators are a must in my skin and body care routine so the Bath & Body Works 'Lavender & Sandalwood' Clay Body Scrub and Coco Shea 'Coconut' Richly Nourishing Body Buff (thanks to the Mistress!) should come as no real shocker. Both smell amazing; again no shocker since regular readers know I'm a firm aromatherapy believer. Visit Inyouvations in Sheraton for all your Bath & Body Works products. Continuing on the Bath & Body Works train, the…
