ASOS haul

Before you get excited, I ordered these things a while ago so they do not count for Make Out 2014.

Ok, now get excited.

Every single thing here is YouTube inspired fo sho. I think I was most interested in the Bourjois products since I don't have anything from the line. Bourjois and Chanel are owned by the same family and I've heard Wayne Goss comment on the similarities of the powder blushes.

Bourjois powder blush - 54 'Frosted Rose'

Bourjois cream blush - 04 'Sweet Cherry'

looks like they would layer well right?

Both products are 2.5 grams (M.A.C mineralized blushes contain 3.2 grams). Like the Chanel blushes, the powder blush is heavily scented (fragrance is the second thing on the ingredient list). On first touch both are incredibly smooth. The plastic packaging seems strudy, the best part being the strong magnetic closure. They're just so itty bitty and cute!

Bourjois Color Edition cream to powder eyeshadow - 06 'Bleu tenebreux'

Yuh know when yuh swatch something for the first time and start making those porn noises? See picture above. I will have to get back to you on the 24 hour hold claim 'cause when I was removing the swatch with a dry tissue the base moved pretty easily but the blue shimmer remained.

Korres lip butter - 'Mango'

"A butterly lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny tinted finish. The combination of shea butter and rice wax offeres deep hydration and softness. Ideal for chapped lips". See me gone digging my finger into this forgetting it wouldn't be firm like those EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balms. Smh. On first impression I have nothing bad to say about this product. The container looks small but actually contains 6 grams of product (the rms beauty lip balm I recently got contains 5.67 grams).

I raved about the Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in my Top Ten for 2013 series and just had to get the most infamous one in 'Nude'.

005 'Nude'. I think I made the porn noises again.

Left to right: 'Nude', 'Purple' and 'Blue'

Another Rimmel London product that is widely discussed on YouTube is their Stay Matte long lasting pressed powder. I decided to try 'Peach Glow' instead of the translucent one for fear that it would look ashy on my complexion. It is swatched here heavily of course...but I dunno.

And finally,

Rimmel London Apocalips lip lacquer - 101 'Celestial'

I will tell you how I feel about these lip lacquers shortly.

Many many thanks to my Pardnuh Karla and her generous Auntie for the hook up!

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.

Can you tell which is which? No? Well, neither can I.
