Product Rave: Prep and Prime Natural Radiance (Pink)

Lovelies!!!

This one caught me totally off guard. I am NOT a M.A.C loyalist. I do however own, quite a few M.A.C staples, because frankly, I like some of their products enough to repurchase after exhaustion. Total exhaustion. Paint pots, lipsticks and liners, blushes and foundations are a few of my faves. And I am since Akeem's class a 266 Brush & 217 Brush FAN!

On the last day of the class, I received a few goodies, and this was one of them! When I drew it out of the bag I was a little disappointed, I had been hoping for an eye shadow palette or maybe a lipstick. But the good Lord in His wisdom saw it fit to provide me with something I didn't know I wanted or needed.

Cue angelic music, celestial bells, trumpets sounding and the hallelujah chorus. Chile lemme tell you bout life. I dropped this Natural Radiance bad boy inna me kit.

I am in LOVE.

I've been using it for about 2/3 weeks on my clients and I have had NO complaints!! Now I am a firm believer in the Makeup Forever HD Primer Neutral. Simply because it works well in our climate and provides a good base with oil control. But honey!!

I'm starting with the cons SO FAR with this one: it's that good
I have found that with DRY skin:
IT absorbs quickly; so work it in as soon as you apply.
It has reflects that may not be suitable for deeper skin tones.
It is not fragrance free.

Oily Skin:
You may need to use this in areas that are NOT oily i.e avoid the t-zone if you get oil slick type shine or use a setting powder in those areas lightly to control the oil first. Then apply. I promise it'll work!
Expect the reflects to shine bright like a diamond.
If you are acne prone it MAY cause a breakout. So a patch test is key for acne survivors.

Pros:
It gives the skin a smooth, flawless finish.
Adds luminosity.
Moisturizes.
Can assist in oil control.
Has a pleasant, clean, fresh fragrance.
Feels light on the skin.
Can be used under powder, liquid, cream, mousse foundation.
Can be used on oily, dry or combo skin.

After application.
Rave done. The online price is US$40.00 so I'll check local pricing and amend later. But I promise it's worth a try.

What's your go to primer?? And yes M.O.M (milk of magnesia DOES count).

Love you like xo

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

With Key Ingredients:

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

It's A Dupe!

posted on our Facebook page April 12, 2013 "DUPE ALERT: M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark vs Maybelline Fit Me! in 355 Coconut. Both look the same applied to the face and are the same texture when swatched. The Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is bigger by 1 gram but the Fit Me! is significantly cheap... *ahem* more "inexpensive". There is one shade darker in the M.A.C version but 355 is the darkest shade in the Maybelline. (I'm NC50). If you go through a lot of face powder it's worth a shot - LR"
Talk about a throwback!
I watched a dupe video on YouTube recently where this comparison was mentioned and it reminded me that I had the same thought a while ago. The finish on the skin is identical. Since this original post M.A.C has changed the packaging on their Mineralize line and Maybelline has rebranded/re categorised the Fit Me! range into: Dewy/Set + Smooth and Matte + Poreless.
M.A.C says: "A slow-baked powder with 77-Mineral Complex that provid…
