Eyelashes & You

Lovelies!!

I get asked about this a lot.

Truth be told I was never fond of eyelashes.

I have really long, quite thick ones. And they keep me happy. BUT, I do know the importance of amping up an eye look with a nice pair of falsies.

Some of my favourite brands since experimenting are:
Red Cherry
Stardel
NYX
Cherry Blossom
Ardell
Kiss
Cara
House of Lashes
Andrea
Elf

And those are just a few. Sometimes I get crazy and wear them for a week. Other times, I get fed up with picking the glue out of my own lashes and opt for mascara.

Either way here are five tips for selecting eyelashes and application:

1. Go natural first. People tend to select the most dramatic, full lashes in the lashosphere (made a word up lol) and then go, uh uh, take dem off. Ammmmmm they ADD expect the volume.

2. Use a glue that adheres quickly. Star Glue, Kiss iEnvy are my go-tos.

3. Use a pair of tweezers. They help, seriously.

4. Practice. Don't get frustrated, it takes time, patience and steady hands. Do not dri…

Beauty Sponge Woes

We love when your request align with posts we already have in mind so please keep 'em coming!

This one goes out to Lasonta Sealy *wink*

Beauty sponges (damp) give a streak free finish to foundation that look seamless and more 'skin like'. They can transform heavy long wear foundations (eg: Revlon ColorStay) to make them appear far more breathable whilst retaining their staying power. Say goodbye to cakeface! I particularly love them for their ability to blend in foundation at the hair and jaw line.
This post could also be dedicated to Ashley, whom since I recommended the Beauty Blender to her said she's never using a foundation brush again :D I don't feel the same way, since sponges can also make you use more product (especially with liquids). In this keek, I used three pumps of the M.A.C Pro Longwear applied with my Pro Beauty Blender and I could still see my post acne hyperpigmentation.

The Original Beauty Blender landed on the scene and created quite a stir. Now,…

Let's Talk Polish

Have you checked out Mozaic in Limegrove yet? Excellent customer service and lookka that packaging!

Recently I went to see what new goodies were at Bio Beauty (435-9306). They also carry O.P.I polishes.

In their sale bin they had a few of the Liquid Sands polishes. I found this gem...

'It's Frosty Outside' (two coats)
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed that. You're not supposed to put a topcoat on those; I did and I could still feel the texture of the polish. It reminded me that I had a China Glaze glitter that I hadn't used in a while...

'Ruby Pumps'
Gorgeous; and it can be worn alone too. Two coats is magic. Speaking of glitter polishes, Kim from Bajan Beauty Blog told me that the ones from Butter London were her favourite. I took her advice:

'Fishwife' (two coats)
Errrrrrrrrrrrmahgad. Holographic heaven. Those Butter London polishes cost $39.45BDS so make sure you pick unique colours. Also, use a basecoat like Orly 'Bonder' or CND 'Sti…

Make Out 2014 - March Update

From 2/14 at the end of February to a whole lotta lip products...

March haul
and lip products was the one thing I said I certainly need no more of. Sigh.
My Saks Fifth Avenue haul has swatches of the Tom Ford lipstick, Heidi raved about those NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and I just wanted another NYX Butter Gloss so I could do an overview. If you follow our Facebook page or my Instagram you would have seen when the new Milani products reached No. 1 Beauty Supply. I had to try their anti-feathering lip liner especially since I've heard that it performs as well as the Make Up For Ever one.
6/14:( How will I make it?

In related news, the nail polish haul was straight up ridiculous! In my defense: 1) I didn't purchase all of these, and 2) I'm on the hunt for the perfect polish in certain colours. The rest I will be placing in the blog sale.

Any tips for effectively using those nail appliques?
