Haul - MAC and a L'oreal Repurchase

Hi Mavenz,

If you follow @modenmakeup on Instagram, and you viewed your timeline today, you should have seen this:

Full MAC Haul

Since Crop Over is coming up, Anderson suggested I buy some things locally to put into my kit, he imports all of my needs. Well this haul is just the beginning!!! Permission granted and I out to all! I need to get some wipes, fix plus, brow pencils, con.... getting ahead of myself. See above for what I purchased today!

I LOVE Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation for setting my Ben Nye Matte Foundations. But I honestly have no idea where all my powders have gone. I can only find one NW45 and I had 4. I know I bought four of each shade, now. I'm down to one of each, HORRORS. Terrible, I know. I'll keep hunting though.

So I bought two to tide me over til Saturday:

NC50 & NW50

My studio finish concealer was at scrape the bottom status, AND I wanted to try a lighter shade for my brows and highlight, so Ackeem suggested NC 40, which I went for.

Studio Finish Concealer- NC40

I am almost out of my Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown so I had to purchase a Stud and a Spiked pencil juuuuust to take me into August/September.

Stud Eyebrow Pencil

Fiiiinally, a WANT for a few months now, a sweet, plumy pinky, shimmery blush called Ambering Rose... heard of it?

Ambering Rose Sheertone Shimmer Blush

And the GREATEST REPURCHASE OF THEM ALLLL:

Miss Manga - L'oreal
This mascara has changed my lash game!!!!! I am soooooooooo happy with this, and I got the last one from Cave Shepherd. This is my new go to, yes ,yes Miss Manga is my jam, and Maybelline Great Lash has gone in the kit, back ups included (*bites nails hopes she doesn't regret*).

Let me know if you want a review on any of the abovementioned items.

I think I'll do haul blogs from now on... this is fun!!! Happy Shopping and Safe Crop Over!!

Look for one of us at Pic-O-De-Crop and the other at Beach House ;)

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

With Key Ingredients:

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.

Can you tell which is which? No? Well, neither can I.
