The Makeup Show NYC Experience - Part 2

Mavenz,

If you follow me on Instagram you know I got married. It was hectic, and crazy and Lucinda took care of our baby. I'm back now!!

Back to the action at the makeup show. Now I had to pay a visit to the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancers. Ermagerd. NOTHING highlights and conceals like these beauties. The price? Astronomical, so I tested and moved on. High on my Christmas wishlist?? Them!

Kevyn Aucoin - Sensual Skin Enhancers
Mario Badescu spotted when I was ready to leave :( Had to rush.

Now, hear this. I got samples. The ladies at Mario Badescu were SOOO nice and helpful. And I shared some with Lucinda. The hand cream??? Talk about emollient and refreshing. I do NOT have to moisturize more than once with that bad boy. More on this later ;) Suffice to say, it's a MUST HAVE in your handbag. The Orange Cleanser?? To die for. I neeeeeeed a full size in my life. My skin felt so soft and supple, even my mum admitted it's a must have in her beauty regimen. SWEEET!!

Ben Nye or Sacha
My love for the Ben Nye Banana Powder is real!! It really highlights the face beautifully. And there was the full range of powders available from Naimie's. Now it seems Sacha Cosmetics has a Kamaflage product called Buttercup now that is seriously rivaling the Ben Nye. HOWEVER for that light bright, super glowy fierce look, I will be keeping my Ben Nye on hand. It was on special so I definitely scored a few!

The incomparable Jordan Liberty.
Jordan Liberty  is one of THE fiercest, baddest makeup artists on Youtube and Instagram, he is SOOO gracious, humble and CUTE!!! Ugh Dee and I were so excited to see him and take photos, and he offered us some info on his latest line. You all KNOW we love to #givegoodface so we will definitely be hitting him up on the website; his product MUST be good! This man is underrated, his artistry is simple, yet sophisticated and his style?? Unparalleled. Check him out and let me know in the comments below what you think. I promise you won't be disappointed.

All in all? A MUST attend event for makeup artists, pros and beauty bloggers. If you are a layman who is simply interested in beating your face on a daily basis, it may be a bit overwhelming and not in your zone. But if you are truly a lover of makeup? Go for it, who knows you may be able to score a few good deals like me!

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.

Can you tell which is which? No? Well, neither can I.
