Would I 'Repurchase'? bareMinerals Flawless Definition and Lash Domination mascaras

I believe these were two gift with purchase mascaras. I wanted to try Lash Domination from the time I saw Crystal raving about it. I got this itty bitty sample (1.5 ml) and was too fussy.

The wand is unique and it does deliver volume and separation. The formula is very pigmented and despite what the claims say, is prone to clumping.

I don't know if the packaging on the full size is identical but on this one the wide opening of the tube causes a lot of product to come out on the wand. As pictured above, you need to wipe the excess off the tip and that gets messy; very much like the Urban Decay Big Fatty mascara.

What I like most about the formula, well along with the rich pigmentation, is that is lifts the lashes. I've never curled my lashes but this mascara sure makes it look that way. Lash Domination retails for $18USD, if I ever get through my mascara pile I'd consider trying it out. Please note: you should really use an eye makeup remover with this prior to washing your face. A makeup remover wipe won't do the trick. Uh tell yuh um pigmented!

Moving on...

I've dubbed Flawless Definition the original Clump Crusher.

From the site: "Color: Black. Description: intense black

Wink, blink, and bat your eyes. With Flawless Definition Mascara, you'll enjoy every lash. The tapered wand lengthens, darkens and lifts, separating each individual lash for precision definition.

Benefits: 84% of women said it defines lashes
87% of women said it separates lashes
82% of women said it finds and coats each lash with no clumps.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Beeswax (Cera Alba), Stearic Acid, Diisostearoyl Trimethylpropane Siloxy Silicate, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Silica, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Ozokerite, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Rhodochrosite Extract, Malachite Extract, Smithsonite Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)".

This is one time I can say that every one of those benefits listed are true. Unlike the formula of the Lash Domination this isn't overly pigment or wet. In fact, this sample (5 ml) dried up pretty quickly. The drier formula also made other mascaras flake if you attempted to use Flawless Definition as a second coat. Still, I really liked to use this on both my upper and lower lashes as an everyday mascara. That extremely tapered wand is just brilliant. This one also retails for $18USD but unlike its counterpart I wouldn't buy the full size. From all the reviews I've seen you can get the same results with CoverGirl Clump Crusher and that retails for $8USD.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

It's A Dupe!

posted on our Facebook page April 12, 2013 "DUPE ALERT: M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark vs Maybelline Fit Me! in 355 Coconut. Both look the same applied to the face and are the same texture when swatched. The Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is bigger by 1 gram but the Fit Me! is significantly cheap... *ahem* more "inexpensive". There is one shade darker in the M.A.C version but 355 is the darkest shade in the Maybelline. (I'm NC50). If you go through a lot of face powder it's worth a shot - LR"
Talk about a throwback!
I watched a dupe video on YouTube recently where this comparison was mentioned and it reminded me that I had the same thought a while ago. The finish on the skin is identical. Since this original post M.A.C has changed the packaging on their Mineralize line and Maybelline has rebranded/re categorised the Fit Me! range into: Dewy/Set + Smooth and Matte + Poreless.
M.A.C says: "A slow-baked powder with 77-Mineral Complex that provid…
