Quickie Raves (2)

You guys gave this format the go ahead so lewwe go!

Maybelline New York Express Remover

I showed this in that Antigua Haul. I've seen vloggers talk about the one Sephora makes so I decided to give this a go. Basically it is a bottle that contains a sponge soaked in nail polish remover. There's a hole in the center so you can immerse your finger into the solution. This Maybelline one claims to "remove nail polish in one dip". Errr maybe a prolonged dip. For glitter polishes you have to turn your finger to and fro a few times but the process is certainly faster that the traditional method. One point to note is that the original contents is pretty strong stuff so: a) it will evaporate if not closed immediately after use and, b) it really dehydrates your nails. The most wonderful thing about this packaging is that you can continue to refill it with your favourite nail polish remover.

Aveeno Baby Lavender & Vanilla Calming Comfort Lotion

I'm not sure if you've noticed but I never purchase and body lotions, creams or butters in my Bath and Body Works hauls. For one, I'm trying to get through the ones I've amassed over the years. Secondly, I'm trying to move away from heavily perfumed lotions etc. and eventually just use natural oils. Well, that was the plan till I stumbled upon this baby! I love the texture of this lotion; it moisturizes without being greasy or taking forever to absorb. The other plus is - funny enough - the scent. It's nice without being overpowering and it doesn't change when in contact with my body chemistry. Your skin feels oh so soft after you apply this - 1.2% dimethicone is listed as the active ingredient.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder '003 Peach Glow'

Back in February I hauled this powder and at the time was very unsure of how the shade would work with my skintone. A mind tell me to use it to set my under eye concealer. *cue Angelic chorus* The colour is perfect as that additional highlighter boost; the texture is perfect since it's a light powder so that sensitive area does look crapey and the formula has in the slightest bit of micro shimmer which is perfect to illuminate the skin. I'm tempted to buy the '001 Transparent' shade to try as an all over face setting powder. Did I mention that it contains 14 grams of product? Yeah. Get you some.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter 'Fig Jam'

Y'all know I got lippie addict issues. So when you see that I am near the end of a lip product you gotta know the shit REAL. These were all the rage on YouTube 'bout two years ago and then as more and more shiny new lip products came out they got cast by the wayside. If you're like me and rarely wear makeup futherlessmore a full-on lip colour every day these are your friend. Basically a very tinted lip balm. 'Fig Jam' is right on trend this season a la the "Kylie Jenner/ 90s lip" too.

Orly Nail Lacquer Thinner

If you've followed this blog or my Instagram for more than five minutes you also know that I have a problem with leaving de people nail polish in dem store. As you can imagine, I don't paint nails for a living so some polishes go unused for a quite a while. Have no fear, Orly is here. Of course there are other nail polish thinners on the market but I love the nozzle on this one which makes dispensing a couple drops into any hardened/separated polish a breeze.

Purchased at iMart Lanterns for approx. $20

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
