Make Out 2014 - November Update / Another Collective Haul

To hell with shame. LOL. No but seriously, after this haul there's gonna be a Sephora and Nars one. I make no apologies. Dahs how de cookie crumble.

The motherload

Those close to me know a lot of purchases are actually planned with blog posts in mind; mainly comparison posts cause that's what I figure shoppers wanna know. So yuh see? I doan shop with reckless abandon! Honestly, times too hard fuh dat. On the flip side, I love the instant gratification of shopping. Terrible, I know, but very true. The point? I see all this as a win-win for you and I. I spend de money and feel great then I come and tell you what is or isn't worth the purchase. What a Saint right?! Or nah? Don't forget to check out the Moden Makeup Marketplace for great deals on cosmetics.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Unlike my Influencers post the persons mentioned below are all local and I know them. If that makes me biased then you should take everything I'm about to say with a grain of salt.

Heidi Bowen of Moden Makeup

Let's get the obvious one out of the way shall we 😉 I've said before how much I've learned watching Heidi conduct her Workshops. Since then she has increased her skillset, restructured her modules and truly focused on knowledge sharing. Every participant departs feeling enlightened; emboldened to try something they once thought was daunting. No one leaves empty handed. This kindda thing speaks to me because I've attended many M.A.C classes and saw the value only in the products I was reimbursed. Not to say, the outing isn't a good time - especially if you go with friends - but some settings leave you more intimidated than excited. #TeamModen affiliations aside, I can see how Heidi has grown as a Beauty Educator. And fuh my one part I know any session booked…
