I used this more as a linen mist and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have since purchased the pillow mist and I most definitely prefer the body version.

Simple Deep Cleaning Facial Mask

Another product that I repurposed. Now this is a fine facial mask as clay masks go but I mostly enjoyed using it in the shower to remove heavily pigmented mascara. Yup, you read that right. It removed the mascara totally without leaving any remnants on - or in - my eyes. There is no fragrance or dyes added to this product so I've encountered no problems using it on such a sensitive area.

 Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub

My name is Lucinda Robinson and I am addicted to exfoliators. I've repurchased this numerous times. The physical exfoliators aren't harsh but are still effective and it contains 2% salicylic acid to help fight acne.

Make-up Designory Loose Powder 'Desert'

I find that this powder is milled finer that the Ben Nye Luxury Powder 'Banana'. Also it's a softer shade of yellow so the highlight never looks harsh.

Smashbox High Definition Concealer 'Deep'

This is currently my favourite concealer and if you know me you know I have a lot to choose from. Now I don't think this really qualifies as a "deep" shade but it works perfectly on my complexion (NC50) to cover hyperpigmentation. I was telling Heidi recently that my "no makeup makeup" base products are the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer then this concealer set with the M.A.C Mineralized Skinfinish Natural 'Dark' buffed in with the Tarte Airbuki. I spray that all down with the Kat Von D Lock 'N Load Setting Mist.
At first I thought this concealer blended away too easily but I've since discovered that you have to let it set on the skin for a few minutes before you start buffing on the setting powder.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Summer Standouts

It feels strange to talk about beauty products with all that's going on in the Caribbean. Our neighbours are going through some seriously trying times and I implore you to give whatever you can. 🙏

I didn't even realise that this was a running theme. Last year's was especially good since it featured some of my favourite combinations. Like last year, makeup seems to have taken a backseat this Summer.

There's only one item here that surprised me...but let me not get ahead of myself.
Y'all know exfoliators are a must in my skin and body care routine so the Bath & Body Works 'Lavender & Sandalwood' Clay Body Scrub and Coco Shea 'Coconut' Richly Nourishing Body Buff (thanks to the Mistress!) should come as no real shocker. Both smell amazing; again no shocker since regular readers know I'm a firm aromatherapy believer.
