Product Rave: Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick

From the Too Faced Cosmetics site: "There’s rich, there’s obscenely rich and then there’s our La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream. Oozing with lip-conditioning hydrators, including white lotus flower, it treats while it enhances lips. Available in twenty-two* carefully curated, heiress-worthy shades.
  • Infused with White Lotus Flower Extract to hydrate, soothe and condition the lips
  • Power Peptides condition and smooth the delicate lip area
  • Net. Wt. 3 g / 0.11 Oz".
* the site actually says five in the blurb. I guess they never updated it.

I have four of them: 'Nude Beach', 'Spice Spice Baby', 'Honey Bear' and 'Razzle Dazzle Rose'. They retail for $22USD.

I also had 'Naked Dolly' but that's too nude for me so it's up for grabs in The Marketplace.

The first thing that impressed me about this product was the packaging. It feels heavy (for a lipstick), much like what you would expect from a high end product. But how this product has become the favourite of many YouTube personalities - EmilyNoel83. BeautybyRosita, MrsLolaLynn etc. - lies in the formula. The term 'lip cream' is spot on. Of the four I've had 'Spice Spice Baby' the longest. The swatches below are without a liner. Of course using a brown lip liner wouldda made all the neutrals look better but I wanted to show the colour straight out of the bullet.

'Honey Bear'

'Honey Bear' is the only one I have that has shimmer in it. The shimmer particles are not uncomfortable on the lips but they do remain after the base colour wears off.

'Razzle Dazzle Rose'

The colour can be built up to reach a fuller opacity but from the swatches you can see these mainly give a slight tint to my lips. The ones that I've tried don't stain the lips and you do have reapply every couple of hours to maintain the colour. 'Razzle Dazzle Rose' does have a lot of pigmentation so I suspect the darker colours would have even more. What does stay with you is the moisturisation. These are the most comfortable lipsticks I've ever come across. If you have dry lips or live in a cold climate I could see you loving this formula. It is totally forgiving to whatever lip issue you might be experiencing.

Beautiful slim gold packaging

I'm not usually a 'touch-up' kindda girl but these are a joy to reapply. They're the perfect handbag lipstick. The cap has a rubber insert that snuggly secures the product.

I said here, this is a "I want them all" kindda product and I wasn't joking. Then I recommended the formula again here. It's obviously a recurring theme. You gotta try these out; your lips are gonna love you for it.

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
