Top Ten Random Favourites for 2014

Here's a new category in the Top Ten series. These things didn't really fit in anywhere so I chose to lump them all together. I'm sure most of them will come as no surprise to anyone.

Christian Dior J'adore L'Or

I would just call it grown and sexy but the site makes it sound much fancier: "Jadore L’Or is an ode to Noble Materials, a sensual fragrance with balance that stems from a harmonious blend of several floral Absolutes: May Rose Absolute and Grasse Jasmine Absolute.

These Absolutes comes from the flowers harvested at the Domaine de Manon, which are exclusively reserved for Dior. The unique climatic conditions in this exceptional region, located between the sea and the mountains, give the flowers their fully original character.

Delicately blended together with rare ingredients, the Indian Tuberose and Tahitian Vanilla Absolutes unleash their highly seductive oriental notes, enveloping the floral notes in a voluptuous caress.

Highly concentrated and as subtle as it is opulent, J’adore L’Or is a genuine olfactory challenge: the encounter between Grasse and the Orient
".

I still love my Chanel Chance but that to me is an anytime scent. This L'Or is for when you have somebody you wanna hypnotize. I bought this on my way to New York in June and look at where it is now...

Purina Tidy Cats Litter Box Liners

Any of my Instagram peeps know that last year I discovered a terrorist I later named Logan. Logan's mother abandoned him under my cellar, in a not readily accessible area, and this bugger cried for five days straight. You see? He was driving me crazy from the start. Anyho, pet lovers know a big part of it is cleaning up after them and these liner bags makes it wayyyyyy easier.

Peach Bellini 3 Wick Candle

This and the Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint scent are the only ones I have back ups of. They're also the only ones that I completely used up last year. If you're not into candles try the Gentle Foaming hand soap in this scent. YUMMMM.

Black Cherry Merlot Gentle Foaming Hand Soap

I just told you about two of my favourite scents from Bath and Body Works. Well, hear tune, this is the best hand soap scent they released for 2014. No, I didn't smell all but I don't know what could be better than this.

Downy UnStopables

I raved about them here. p.s. the Gain ones are the same thing.

Sensodyne Rapid Relief Toothpaste

I got my teeth whitened professionally last year and the sensitivity I had afterward literally had me feeling like I was going crazy. This toothpaste helped a lot. It was my first time using Sensodyne and I'm not buying anything else.
Does anyone else get those weird white stringy things in their mouth from using certain whitening mouthwash or toothpaste? Gross I know. Well, this doesn't do that.

Neom Luxury Organics 'Tranquility' Room Mist

Ahhhhhhhhh. That's what I say everytime after I smell this. If you start a routine of spraying this in your bedroom before you hit the sack it'll tell your brain that it's time for sleep.

Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel

I raved about it here. I was a die hard Gillette Satin Care girl one time but then I learned that heavily fragranced body products aren't always the best.

Longchamp 3D Handbag

Heidi is more into bags than I am but I can still appreciate a good one. This bag is not too big or small; it's pretty much my workhorse now. I got a limited edition colour but I really wanted the Cognac one which is permanent.

Moonstone Semi-precious Stone Handchain by Lanomrah Designs

and finally...

ALL OF YOU!

Corny I know, but so true. 2014 saw a lot of growth here and on the facebook page. We also launched the Moden Makeup Marketplace which has helped many discover things they love at reasonable prices. Heidi has elevated her professional training and skills while I bought more nail polish that I can swatch! 😝 and you have made it all possible.

Thank you.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Summer Standouts

It feels strange to talk about beauty products with all that's going on in the Caribbean. Our neighbours are going through some seriously trying times and I implore you to give whatever you can. 🙏

I didn't even realise that this was a running theme. Last year's was especially good since it featured some of my favourite combinations. Like last year, makeup seems to have taken a backseat this Summer.

There's only one item here that surprised me...but let me not get ahead of myself.
Y'all know exfoliators are a must in my skin and body care routine so the Bath & Body Works 'Lavender & Sandalwood' Clay Body Scrub and Coco Shea 'Coconut' Richly Nourishing Body Buff (thanks to the Mistress!) should come as no real shocker. Both smell amazing; again no shocker since regular readers know I'm a firm aromatherapy believer.
