My Foundations: Make Up For Ever High Definition

Two things happened since my last post in this Foundation Series: 1) after seven entries I realised that I would have to start over the swatches. My arms just ain't that long; and, 2) I gave Heidi the Revlon Nearly Naked and Lancome Teint Visionnaire foundations. I have six more foundations (excluding powders) to bring to you, therefore I certainly don't need to be holding on to ones that I have to make work.

On to our story... *Groover voice*

From the site: "Details - The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of makeup which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. HD Foundation combines flawless coverage and an extremely natural finish.

The Sericite contained in HD Foundation heightens the diffusion of light and intensifies the glow of the skin.
Enriched with moisturizing agent, HD Foundation moisturizes and prepares the skin for makeup. Its usually smooth and elastic texture makes it easy to apply and a pl…

Flashback Friday (July 2012)

posted on our Facebook page July 24, 2012 Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow 'Euphoria'
This was a real itty bitty haul. I was totally sold on this product by Wayne Goss' review. Before this, my only experience with cream blushes had been the ones from NYX.
Sadly, I really haven't used it much; hence why it's in the Project 15 Pan

Since then though, I've been putting it to work.

For application I like to use small duo fibre brushes like the e.l.f Small Stipple Brush or the M.A.C 130.

M.A.C 130 (left) vs. e.l.f Small Stipple Brush (right) Sorry I used it today!
The formula settles down to a kindda powder finish; I say kindda because the glow definitely remains even after you powder over it. 'Euphoria' can be worn alone as a soft rosy flush of colour on the skin or as a base for a similar or complementary powder shade.
Don't forget that cream products have a shorter shelf life than powder ones. So please don't leave ignore them.
What blushes have you be…

Quickie Raves (4)

Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser

If you have dry/dehydrated skin or if you travel a lot, this cleanser is for you.

It's 99% natural and free of fragrance and sulphates - i.e. it doesn't foam.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Skin Renewal Complex

This is an amazingly lightweight moisturizer that hydrates and lightly exfoliates the skin. ***Please note*** The second ingredient is peanut oil.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps 'Peppermint'
If you're into aromatherapy like me you're gonna love this. The bar soap in 'Lavender' is also great for washing your makeup brushes/sponges.

Coconut Oil

The health/beauty benefits of coconut oil are often raved about so I'm sure this is nothing new to you. What I've been loving most about coconut oil recently is the wonders it performs on my hair. Added to any hair mask it immediately makes a difference.

Heath & Heather Echinacea & Cranberry Tea

Add honey or enjoy alone. It's good for you and tastes great.

Flashback Friday (September 2012)

This haul was very special since it was my first from Jamaica. It seems as though Jamaica gets a lot of new "drugstore" products before us. I've also seen brands there that aren't available locally.

posted on our Facebook page September 23, 2012
I was ecstatic to find a store in Half Way Tree that sells the CoverGirl Queen Collection. Monarch Pharmacies are another place that I'd find a host of beauty products.

Oddly enough, from that haul the only thing I still have is the Milani Baked Blush.

The Jamaican prices always confused me since the exchange rate varied from store to store and the taxes weren't included in the sticker price.

As for the other products:
I like Maybelline colour tattoos but I've come to realise that I prefer cream shadow bases in stick form. So those were sold in The Marketplace. Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal 'Electric Blue' vs Laura Mercier Caviar Stick 'Sapphire'  I absolutely love Revlon Lip Butters and I can't fi…

Would I Repurchase? L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur (Oil Free)

From my first experience with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer I got the feeling that heavy - as in, high up on the ingredients list - silicone primers were not for me. I'm not alone in this as many YouTubers that I watch have complained about the same clogged pores and resulting breakouts that may occur. Still, #TeamModen is here to give you our personal experience so you can make better choices prior to shopping. So on with the show...

From the L'Oreal site: "Now in an oil-free, non-SPF formula, Miracle Blur Oil-Free is an Instant Skin Smoother that instantly erases the look of lines, wrinkles and pores. Its innovative lightweight texture is translucent to blend seamlessly into skin for a clean, silky-smooth finish.

What Is Miracle Blur?
It’s NOT a moisturizer, NOT a foundation, MORE than a primer; it’s the first of-its-kind Instant Skin Smoother. Now in an oil-free formula!

What Does It Do?
Miracle Blur Oil-Free instantly erases the look of lines, wrinkles, and pores.
