Would I 'Repurchase'? L.A. Colors Cosmetics Lash Building Mascara

From the time you see 'repurchase' you know the deal, this was given to me.

From the site: "WATER RESISTANT.
LONG LASTING FORMULA.
SPECIAL BRUSH APPLICATOR.

Lash building mascara is specially formulated to maximize, lengthen, & thicken lashes. Special applicator brush separates each lash without clumping
".

This is available in four colours, I have 'Navy Blue'. It's always so interesting to read the marketing blurb on a product after you've tried it and formed your opinions. LOL. Sometimes it's downright hilarious. Anyho...

Pros:
  • the product, like most L.A. Colors products are very inexpensive. This retails for approximately $5 - $8 wherever this brand is sold locally
  • the mascara has a medium formula, i.e. not too wet or dry
  • the colour is a true navy blue. That's good for anyone not looking to have overly obvious blue lashes
  • the natural bristles provide definition; it easily separates the lashes
  • I experienced no flaking while testing this product
  • the product works well with a lash primer
  • the stopper located inside the opening of the tube is a good one; it ensures that the brush isn't overly saturated with mascara
Cons:
  • the "special brush applicator" is huge. I found it very difficult not to get product on my eyelid. Don't even bother using this on the lower lashes unless you like a mess
  • this does not provide volume
  • this barely provides length. My lashes aren't short but I would image that persons with short lashes wouldn't find this to be much use
It doesn't clump after two coats but I wouldn't suggest going any further. I really think this would be a nice cheap everyday mascara if you wanted to add a subtle bit of colour to the eyes; but to get the most out of it a lash primer is a must.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Summer Standouts

It feels strange to talk about beauty products with all that's going on in the Caribbean. Our neighbours are going through some seriously trying times and I implore you to give whatever you can. 🙏

I didn't even realise that this was a running theme. Last year's was especially good since it featured some of my favourite combinations. Like last year, makeup seems to have taken a backseat this Summer.

There's only one item here that surprised me...but let me not get ahead of myself.
Y'all know exfoliators are a must in my skin and body care routine so the Bath & Body Works 'Lavender & Sandalwood' Clay Body Scrub and Coco Shea 'Coconut' Richly Nourishing Body Buff (thanks to the Mistress!) should come as no real shocker. Both smell amazing; again no shocker since regular readers know I'm a firm aromatherapy believer.
