Let's Talk Polish

Milani Glitter polishes to be precise...

It's been awhile since a Let's Talk Polish post I know. Lemme tell yuh, these are pretty hard to compile; but it's definitely overdue.

If you follow us on Facebook and Instagram you know that Paradise Beauty Supply are selling out some of their older stock. These Milani glitter polishes were $2 but then they raised them to $5. Still that's half of what you'd pay in #1 Beauty Supply etc.

A section of the sale table in Paradise Beauty Supply

The reason is that Milani has repackaged their nail polishes so it's literally a case of 'out with the old in the new'...if only more stores in Barbados would shed their dated stock in this fashion.

But I digress, the news of this sale table is definitely a hit amongst us Mavenz and I most certainly got a few of these polishes to try for myself. I also got a few, along with other Milani items, to use as gifts-with-purchase for our Marketplace shoppers ;)

I don't know why I didn't try the Milani polishes before - apart from the obvious reason that I already have too many polishes - but at that price, I couldn't resist.

Jewel FX 'Lavender' and 'Teal'
3D Holographic 'Cyberspace'

Within the glitter range there are some differences: the holographic ones and some others are densely packed with micro shimmer so they can be worn alone. The Jewel FX range (some aren't labelled as that but look very similar in the bottle) are made up of large and mini hexagons and look better as toppers.

I haven't worn all the ones I got yet,

'Fuchsia' and 3D Holographic 'Hi-Res'
3D Holographic 'HD' and 'Diamond Dazzle'

but so far wear time seems to be the average three days without chipping. Again, I don't baby my hands so you could have better results if you do. At $5 I think they're great for accent nail polish options. Paired with a good top coat the shine is incredible. Create statement manicures for cheap!

Have you tried any of these Milani polishes? They're still a few left in Paradise Beauty Supply if you wanna check them out. I've seen the new bottles in iMart Bridge Street for $10.95. Do you think that's a fair price? Lets discuss it in the comments.

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
