That awkward moment when you have a set of posts to do but don't know what to call them...

The general idea is though that I've purchased a lot of value/travel sets solely to try one item. I can't be only beauty junkie that does that. Right?

*All prices in USD before TAX.

First Aid Beauty (FAB) Cleanse & Exfoliate

This came in a very recent Sephora haul and is technically a repurchase of two items I got in a bigger kit that I'll mention later. I've raved about this Face Cleanser before so you'd understand why I couldn't pass this up. Alone the 2 oz is $10* so the Facial Radiance Pads included here are just gravy.

Origins Skincare Must Haves

Until this purchase I'd heard a lot about the Origins brand but never tried anything. Sharalee and I stumbled upon this kit at a CCO in New York and I immediately grabbed it. While it does contain a lot of their best sellers, I was most interested in the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. Having used that up tho…

Would I Repurchase? Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Wash

Am I the only one who prefers to have different types of cleansers in rotation? Yuh know: gel, cream, foam and an exfoliator. Ok, maybe I'm just extra. This Boots "hypoallergenic foaming wash" came highly recommended from Josh Collier MUA. I identified with his suggestion because he has oily, acne prone skin and he swears by this stuff. On the other hand I also remembered Caroline Hirons stating that cleansers shouldn't foam...but Josh swore it was gentle so...check out his video below.

I got this from Duane Reade (which is a Walgreens company since December 2014) in April this year. From the Walgreens site: "Description - Sensitive skin needs extra care when being cleansed.

This hypoallergenic foaming wash is specially formulated to be less drying. With soothing aloe vera and mineral water it leaves skin cleansed and refreshed.

Fragrance-free. Lanolin-free. Dermatologically tested. Massage onto wet skin and rinse off thoroughly.

Another brand overview...

This toss we're looking at the L'Oreal Extraodinaire Gel-Lacque system. Yup, another do-it-at-home "gel nails" thingie. Unlike the Sally Hansen line that I reviewed recently, in the L'Oreal system you purchase the 'Step 1 Primer + Step 3 Glaze' as a set and the coloured nail polish separately. The "Gel-color" polishes were on Collins' shelves for quite some time now; but not the base and top coat. I remember Mandy and I lamenting about that for months before we actually saw them in Barbados. So much so that I ended up getting mine in New York last year.

When they did land it was sticker shock time.

As seen in Collins
As seen in Massy Stores
As seen in iMart
As usual, they're the most expensive in iMart. The L'Oreal site says they're $7.99USD.
L'Oreal says: "Description - Our exclusive 3-step nail system for extraordinary nails. L’OrĂ©al Paris Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque provides rich, ultra glossy colo…

Holiday Sets: Stila Cosmetics

Stila is best known for it's a amazing eyeshadow called 'Kitten'. So raved about is this shadow that I had to have their 'In The Light' palette just to have that one shade. It's sold as a single so you don't have to do that.

The shade is so raved about that they created other products to go along with it: cream highlighter, lip glazes etc. But this isn't a brand awareness post so lemme get to the point. Another infamous product from the brand is their Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. Y'all know I already tried 'Como' but 'Patina' is what I really really wanted. That bih stays outta stock! So when I saw it in a Holiday 2015 mini set de dawg did dead.
Stila Cosmetics Holiday 2015: 'Eternally Yours Liquid Lipstick' Set and 'Eternal Love Liquid Lipstick Set'
At the time of writing this I don't see these online anymore but they were - either both or just one - on Ulta.com, Sephora.com, Beauty.com and of course Stila's…

Nude Lips (Pink/Mauve based) Part 2 #LipSwatchWeek

Continuing...

The sun wasn't cooperating today. Sigh.

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss 'Mirrored Mauve'

Estee Lauder Pure Color (Creme) 'Blushing'
This looks more pink on than it does in the tube.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil 'Rikugien'

Great take-along product for your purse/handbag.

M.A.C Cremesheen 'Mystical' LE

Gorgeous. There's one of these available in The Marketplace.

Revlon Colorburst 'Rosy Nude'

Told y'all it had to make another appearance.

M.A.C Amplified Creme 'Craving'

Thee Amplified lipstick range from M.A.C is no joke.

Sephora Lip Pencil 'Raisin'

Ashley brough back a few of these for me a while ago and this is my favourite by far. The formula contains blue/fuchsia shimmer particles that add duochrome dimension to the product. The only con is that said particles stay on your lips after the gloss has worn away; but thankfully there's no gritty feel to the product.

I included hand swatches this toss in…

Milani vs. Maybelline Lip Gloss #LipSwatchWeek

I don't know what made me think to compare these. The only exterior similarity is the sleekness of the packaging. Anyho...

Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss: "Description - Lasts-forever colour and a-ma-zing shine in one sleek tube? Once upon a time that was at the top of every makeup addict’s wish list. But with this formula, we’ve cracked the code. Silky instead of sticky, Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss delivers dawn to dusk (or dusk to dawn!) staying power, thanks to a sponge-tip applicator that lets you precision-paint like a pro. Layer over lipstick for a sexy sheen or wear alone for a flirty flash of colour. Choose from two finishes – cream and shimmer – and a huge range of shades from soft nudes to deep berries. Bonus: It smells like vanilla. Sweet!

Application - Apply lip gloss with the wand’s soft tip applicator by starting in the center of your upper lip and work your way to the outer edges. Same technique applies for your bottom lip. Use alone for glitzy shine or over you…
