Metallic Manicures For Old Year's Night

Ahhhh Old Year's Night (New Year's Eve for international readers), the main time it's perfectly normal to 'shine bright like a diamond' from head to toe. I'm just talking about fingernails here though.

Metallic polishes aren't my favourites since some show brush strokes very prominently and basically make you look like an amateur. However, they're so gorgeous I can't resist. Check out some of my favourites:

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear 'Coin Flip'

I think this should be a staple in everyone's collection. Cheap and sweet: so sweet I also featured it in a Top Five Fall Polishes that was featured on Dee's blog.

Orly 'Rage'

Y'all gotta be sick hearing about this by now. Liquid rose gold man.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) 'Poison'

I am such a huge fan of dark manicures that I don't even mind the possible brush strokes. This is another great formula from OCC just be careful to wipe the excess polish off the long stem to prevent nail flooding.

Essie 'Sexy Divide'

Look at this royal purple gorgeousness! This is probably the least metallic of the bunch but the way it shines in the light gives me that same vibe.

Rescue Beauty Lounge 'Scrangie 2.0'

So sad I only got into Rescue Beauty Lounge as it was closing down. Sigh. Check out Scrangie's blog post for full details on her second collaboration with them.

M.A.C 'Shimmerfish' LE

If you have this pull it back out. This one really surprised me with its dimensions: a foil finish with bronze metallic shards throughout, on a cool base.

Zoya 'Faye'

Catch your breath...I'll wait.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.
