Vampy Lips #LipSwatchWeek

The final installment is this dark lipstick series...well that's until some more shades find their way into my collection. Be sure to check all related links provided for additional information.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick 'Venom'

Every time I put on one of these lipsticks I quarrel with myself for not using them more. When Urban Decay says: "Creamy. Badass Luxury", dem din playing!

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color '918D Cherry Bomb'

This shade is YouTube famous; it's said to be a dupe for M.A.C 'Rebel'.

L.A. Splash Lip Couture 'Untamed'

Talk about a waterproof formula; even with dishwashing soap and a scrubbing pad this still took plenty elbow grease to get it off my arm. Impressive...and a little scary.

I also wanted to include their Smitten Lip Tint Mousse 'Raven Claw' but when I opened it - for the first time today, mind you - it seemed rather thick. It proved difficult to apply to my lips so I couldn't be bothered. The exterior packaging does say these are only good for three months but that's supposed to be after it's been opened. I did purchase this in February last year :/ I hope mine has just gone bad and this is not how the formula is supposed to be cause that'd just be madness.

This is one of the shades that's new to to Stila range. This swatch also took a bit of effort to remove.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Heidi Bowen of Moden Makeup

Let's get the obvious one out of the way shall we 😉 I've said before how much I've learned watching Heidi conduct her Workshops. Since then she has increased her skillset, restructured her modules and truly focused on knowledge sharing. Every participant departs feeling enlightened; emboldened to try something they once thought was daunting. No one leaves empty handed. This kindda thing speaks to me because I've attended many M.A.C classes and saw the value only in the products I was reimbursed. Not to say, the outing isn't a good time - especially if you go with friends - but some settings leave you more intimidated than excited. #TeamModen affiliations aside, I can see how Heidi has grown as a Beauty Educator. And fuh my one part I know any session booked…
