Project 15 Pan Finale

Wow. Just Wow. <--- This is my reaction to the realisation that beauty products take a damn long time to get to the bottom of. This challenge has shown me that if I really want to use things up before they go off I definitely need to stop buying new items. From the initial post to the mid year update, I've learned a lot more about my preferences. Here's the wrap up of last year's Project Pan.

M.A.C Bronzing Powder 'Refined Golden'

I've used this a tonne as an eyeshadow but lawwwd um still look brand new.

M.A.C Studio Fix 'NC50'

Look at that pan baby! This powder continues to impress me; it's on the 'To Repurchase' list for sure. Something I have to mention is that I've also hit pan on their Studio Careblend Pressed 'Dark Deep'. Yaaaay me!

M.A.C Paint Pot 'Quite Natural'

Fail #1. As far as eye bases go I've realised I don't prefer potted products. Also 'Quite Natural' has a grey undertone that I'm not fond of unless I'm using darker colours.

Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation 'Deep'

In the mid year update I told y'all I was dun with this. It's replacement...

black|Up Fluid Foundation (original formula) 'FL07'

Very very near to the end and it's heartbreaking. To date this has been my favourite liquid foundation and dem gone and reformulated it. I have a bottle of the new one and I hope it's just as good or better.

Estee Lauder Pure Color 'Blushing', NYX Black Label 'Sand' and Milani 'Teddy Bare' (counted individually)

Fail number two...or two to four if you're gonna be nitpicky. I have sooooooooooooooo many lipsticks and in 2015 I realised that unless I'm going out or testing a formula for a comparison post I barely wear lipstick. Oh for shame!

Korres Lip Butter 'Mango'

"This gon' be easy", I said. I even stored this on my bathroom vanity so I could remember to use it often. Sigh. While I have made significant progress I now know that six grams of lip product is a lot. Still, I ain't mad. This is a solid product.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil 'Perversion'

Never used it. Sold it in The Marketplace.

M.A.C 'Electro Lush', 'Sassy Lassy' and 'Frozen Dream'(counted as 1)

I've made more progress with some than others cause I actually wear lip gloss. If you want to see swatches check out this post.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner 'Enchantment'

Another fail. But hear tune, last year I bought more lip liners than ever before *sob*

Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow 'Euphoria'

Still struggling.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Oil Free) 'Walnut'

This has to be the never ending tube of tinted moisturizer. I think I only have like a quarter left though.

Milani Minerals Blush 'Sunset Beach'

Oh man, this blush put in work. I even used it as an eyeshadow sometimes but...

it look like it barely touch. How does one go through a blush?

M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer 'NC45'

Ever since the lid on this came apart I haven't used it. Which is a shame because it's a popular product that is multifunctional (depending on your skin type). In its place I've been using their Mineralize Concealer in 'NC50' and while I have made progress it should be noted that I always have a plethora of concealers in rotation.

The biggest tip I can give anyone thinking of tackling a Project Pan is to have all your targeted products together in your getting-ready-line-of-sight. The saying "out of sight out of mind" is very applicable to our beauty products.

I think I will attempt 'Use It Or Lose It 2016'. What about you?

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
