Product Rave | Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator

I love exfoliators, this is no secret. I've said countless times that it's one of necessities to rid yourself of hyperpigmentation. In this post I'm talking about a physical exfoliator.

The first time I used this product I knew it was something serious. Only afterwards did I actually read the instructions: "Dampen skin with warm water. Slowly and gently massage cream onto skin for 1-2 minutes avoiding the eye area. Rinse well, pat dry. Best if used 1-2 times per week allowing 3 days between applications." Yup, definitely not mild like my favourite REN Micro Polish Cleanser. This was akin to face sandpaper. I know that sounds very harsh but I don't want you to get the wrong idea. The granules aren't overly abrasive; they're just so fine and so many of them that it's effective.

Before I was half done with the sample I knew I had to get the full size. But lawwwd, the price. A crisp $79USD for 2 oz. I purchased it from Sephora so I could get some cash back using Ebates1

2 oz is a lot of product so it should last a while cause you really don't need much to get the job done. The scrub comes out of the tube as a white paste. When mixed with water it doesn't foam/lather. Those tiny white particles get to work buffing off the dead skin. This isn't a sugar scrub; the particles don't disintegrate. The added fragrance is noticeable, almost medicinal and does not dissipate. Dr. Brandt says this is for all skin types but this isn't something I would recommend for persons with sensitive skin, especially if they're not accustomed to using products containing lactic acid. While that ingredients is mid way in the list it could still cause some sensitivity.

The results from this product are just stellar. My skin feels impeccably smooth after each use. I always follow up with a facial oil. This is nothing I would want to have to repurchase regularly due to the price but at this point I don't ever want to be without it.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

Top Ten Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations

It's that time again. I'm not sure of the dates as yet but one major thing has changed: Sephora no longer ships to commercial addresses 😡I discovered this recently after two of my orders were cancelled. Their customer service said it is something they were cracking down on since late July. Stupse. Sephora clearly ain't care about those of us who have to use mail forwarders. Soooooo yeah...less hauls for me in the future which I am annoyed about. More money for Beautylish den *insert Kanye shrug*

Regular readers have seen my wish list posts every time the sale is approaching. I love watching these types of videos on YouTube so I always want to throw my hat in the ring. There are a couple recommendation posts on this blog as well but this year I wanted to narrow it down to my top ten. Now, of course they're plenty favourites I'd like to mention but in efforts to make this concise...
