Brush Declutter

I've been collecting brushes steadily from late 2012. While periodically I've place a few of them in The Marketplace, I've never gone through the entire collection and sifted through what I don't use often.

Until recently.

Something automatically weren't going anywhere...

I'm a big fan of the Wayne Goss eye brushes and from de time I knew I could get Chikuhodo brushes customized on Visage de dog dead.

When it came to the M.A.C brushes I had to make some relatively tough calls; often we feel we have to hold onto things due to how much they cost but I'm over that now.

M.A.C Brushes
So how did I do?

Not as well as I'd thought...but it's a start. I made up my mind to destash a lot of eye brushes since falling in love with the Wayne Goss ones. They feel great on my eyelids; so great that many other brushes now feel incredibly scratchy. You'll see a couple Zoeva brushes here from the Rose Gold set that I re…

Collective Sephora Haul

Our 500th post. 500. Jesus.

What better way to commemorate that than with our favourite type of post. Well second favourite, cause comparisons are near and dear to my heart.

Haul time baby.

If you need the behind the scene scoop check out my peeks (username: @lr_interlaceinc) profile. Viewable only on mobile it seems.

That's a combination of the Friends & Family and two VIB Rouge trips. I got a few things off the wish list...and then a few more. But I did leave off some. I did! If you want to see the Kat Von D and Sunday Riley things up close check out the links. Everything else will be featured in upcoming posts.

The only thing that had a rough ride was the Ardency Inn pressed pigment.

Sharalee says I should just repress it. She's pretending that she doesn't know that I'm too lazy for that.

Anyho, I hope y'all have a great week. Let us know what you've hauled recently in the comments.

Samples Made Me Buy It

I love when stars align.

Months ago Kirsten did a video with this title and I was instantly inspired.

The next month, with no prompting from me, Heidi wrote a post about the REN Clean Skincare Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask sample that I'd given to her. Gotta be fate. Only recently, I rehashed my appreciation for stores like Pure Source Barbados that understand that samples: a) endear customers to you as an arm of good customer service and b) actually help people make better purchasing decisions. I can count on one hand the amount of samples I have received from Cave Shepherd. When I asked about them I was told they're mostly given to the Airport branch but I also suspect that some staff keep them for themselves and their inner circle. That's not to say that I don't agree with them giving their friends things but uuuhhh please save some for people like me who spends thousands in there every year.

Anyho...rant done. Here's what I purchased after receiving a …

Tata Harper Meet and Greet

Pure Source Barbados recently hosted a Tata Harper Meet and Greet with their regional trainer for the East Coast and Canada, Dana Isernio. Customers were invited to receive mini facials as well as find out more about Tata Harper Skincare.

Dana is very knowledgeable about the brand and was able to recommend different products to each customer based on their specific skin concerns. It is evident that she believes in the Company and she even stated that she was a faithful customer before she took the job.

Tata Harper Skincare is a luxury green beauty line with luxe packaging. Many of her products are raved about by skincare expert Caroline Hirons, whom you know I reference often. Right away I asked Dana about the use of certain essential oils in their products and the propensity for them to cause skin irritation and/or photosensitivity. She assured me that their chemists use the extracts in the right form (mostly the vapours) and amount to only be beneficial to their customers. I was eve…

#MMWC Week Six | Favourite Pink Lipstick

Throwback on a Wednesday 😊

First I'd like to say a big thank you to all the ladies that continue to participate in these weekly challenges. When we share information we help one another and that is very important.

If you remember the #PinkLipsChallenge, you might recall that I was shocked at the amount of lip products I had that fit into that category. Since then I've made a conscious decision not to purchase any more because it's not a colour I wear often. I'm not trying to end up like Victoria who has over 40 pink lip products 😲 She is a different case alltuhgedda.

I had to think really hard about what my favourite pink lipstick was. Initially I would have picked Too Faced 'Razzle Dazzle Rose' or Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting 'Infamous' due to their impeccable formulas or even Ardency Inn Modster Long Play Supercharged 'Twist' because of its incredible pigmentation. Serious reflection led me to M.A.C 'Candy Yum-Yum'.

Holiday 2016 | Kat Von D

Last year I did a whole series about Holiday releases. This year, as you could probably tell by the anti-hauls, I'm not impressed with a lot of things. Kat Von D did get some money outta me this toss though.

Right away you know that ginormous palette could not be for me. As soon as we reach 200,000 views on this blog we'll open a pretty big giveaway 😉 Check out Jen's comprehensive review on the Metal Matte palette:

I already told you that I bought the Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set, even though I knew I wasn't interested in all the shades.

And if that wasn't enough I picked up a mini 'Bow N Arrow' to add to a lip swatch post. I thought a Tattoo Liner was included but it's the Ink Liner version which I already have.

Then I succumbed to the pretty packing demon.

Sigh. This is gonna look so pretty at the top of my lipstick tower1 though.
Of course, swatches will be coming up so please subscribe, if you haven't already, to 'keep in de do' ?…

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.

Can you tell which is which? No? Well, neither can I.
From the MUFE site -  "Details: STEP1 Skin Equalizer triples the power of your foundation: easier application, optimized makeup result, improved wear. STEP1 is the range of skin equalizers developed to refine, smooth and even out. Our exclusive Equalizer Complex delivers 3 key actions:

Uh Bariffle Ah Empties

This is truly a compilation post. If you want the up-to-de-time deets on empties check out my Instagram.

I've been making an effort to use this collection of candles. Especially the ones with the colourful jars. Do you prefer coloured jars or coloured wax? Both these scents were nice; I'd definitely repurchase.

I get such satisfaction from going through skincare samples.
The most notable things from this batch are: Becca primer - I was impressed with the finish and textured but I wouldn't purchase a full sizeTata Harper cleanser - burned my eyes something seriousKate Somerville exfoliator - grossly overpricedClarins eye cream - actually very good but I also think that eye creams are overpriced. And we all know that I'm a fan of most REN Clean Skincare products.

Aromatherapy really works for me; that's why I'm drawn in by fruit scented shower gels. These Zest ones were nice and inexpensive ($10). The Neutrogena Body Clear line is something I go back to eva suh o…
