Let's Talk Polish | A Rose Gold Comparison

Jodi came up with this great idea for us to do a collab on rose gold polishes. I first had to ask what really is rose gold cause some colours could trick yuh. Her response: "...if it look like pink/mauve and gold made a baby then it's rose gold." I hope I represented that definition.

Essie Luxeffects 'A Cut Above' - $15.55 Collins

Y'all knew this was coming.

Orly 'Rage' - $20 iMart

That too.

And if you really bout that life, layer them:

Zoya 'Faye' - $10USD Zoya.com

While this has in more purple than the ones previously mentioned, it's just as gorgeous.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 'Terra-Coppa' - $18.20 Collins

Here it looks more gold but in person you can see the dimension.

Color Club Oil Slick 'Sorry, Not Sorry' - $9.24USD Amazon1

So pretty a still shot alone won't do!

Essie Mirror Metallics 'Penny Talk' - $17.95 iMart

This one has a fast drying formula that can get you into trouble. Chromes are also notorious for showing every flaw in your nails. They would be a great candidate for topping with a Luxeffects polish. Imagine a mixed metal look.

Revlon 'Sparkling' - $10 Paradise Beauty Supply

It would take about three coats to look good on its own but as a topper it's pretty sweet. Imagine that over a blue!

Over Essie 'Licorice'

Milani 'Gilded Rocks' - $10 iMart

A tricky polish; in the bottle you see that pink and gold mix but on the nail it's clear that this is: larger pink hex glitter amidst smaller pink circle glitter shattered throughout a finer gold shimmer. It makes a statement pedicure though.

Cirque Colors 'Himalayan Pink'

Jodi already told you all about this goodness. Cirque describes this as "a rose gold sterling foil holographic (made with superfine sterling silver pigment)". It is stunning.

Cirque Colors 'Halcyon' - $13 Amazon1 and CirqueColors.com

So nice they had to release it twice. If you want this you need to buy it...tuhnow! Cirque describes this one as "a highly reflective rose gold made with pure silver-coated micro-flakes." This looks amazing even in low light.

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
