Mask Monday | Bath and Body Works 'Cool As A Cucumber' Face Sheet Mask

Disclaimer: this product was provided by InYOUvations. This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Are all sheet masks the same?

From the Bath and Body Works website: "Fragrance: Cucumber & Aloe Extracts.

Overview: Our calm & cooling face sheet mask with cucumber & aloe extracts is designed to infuse your skin with supercharged ingredients. Put your freshest face forward with this light, cooling mask. Trade your dry winter woes for skin that glows!

Usage: Apply mask to dry, clean face for 10-15 minutes. Remove mask and massage excess product into skin.

More info: Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Face masks are designed for one-time use only."

This package contained less product than the Boscia Hydrogel Mask so it wasn't a hassle to get it on. It actually fit my face pretty well.

After the suggested time I removed the mask and massaged the product residue into my skin. Let's say 10 minutes face f…

Save or Splurge | SPF

In this scenario especially, the term "splurge" is very relative. For this category, my idea of splurge looks like this:

Bioderma product seen in Aqua Pharmacy
Whereas someone else's might look like this:

If you're a sunscreen purists, i.e. only use mineral protectors (Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide), the choices are more clear cut. If you don't mind chemical sunscreens, they're options a-plenty. Whatever you do, make sure you're protected from both UVA and UVB rays. Read about both types here.

I'd say splurge when it comes to sunscreen; especially if you don't wear makeup. As you've seen me say numerous times, sunscreen is essential to treating hyperpigmentation.

If you do wear makeup and have oily skin, I'd recommend incorporating a primer that contains adequate SPF into your routine. Dry skin folks don't have to worry about piling on the layers 😉

As for the numbers, I've read that more does not equal better. Plus, the only way …

Letting Go

Just your friendly reminder to declutter your collection 😃

I didn't use these up from the 2016 Makeup Use-Up and their formula has changed. Seems like I never did a finale post for that challenge 😳 well ummm, I'm pretty sure I threw away those M.A.C Pro Longwear Lip Pencils as well. Yeah, I definitely did.

Follow The Moden Makeup Marketplace if you want to know when new or slightly used products are available for amazing prices.

The Tarte foundation was too red and once the M.A.C concealer packaging fell apart I just couldn't be bothered.

Check out my Instagram for nail polish swatches.

The scent of that Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal changed so I had to throw it away. Everything else I was barely using so it was best to let them find new homes 😆

What have you decluttered recently? What's your least used type of makeup product…

Pun De Cuttin Board

A lot of the time, the reason we can't decide if to keep something in our collection or let it go is because we haven't tried it enough. In 2018, let's make an effort to work through our stash so we can weed out the meh products and the things that just didn't work for us. I challenge you to pick out a few products, incorporate them into your routine for a month or two then purge what you don't absolutely love after an allotted time has passed.

Here's how I'm starting:

Embryolisse Hydra-Mat EmulsionM.A.C Pro Longwear Paint Pot 'Layin' Low'L.A. Colors Grafix Eyeliner 'Teal'Illamasqua Beyond Powder 'OMG'Givenchy Prisme Libre Mat-finish & Enhanced Radiance Loose Powder '3 Organza Caramel' I figured five items was enough; especially since I now gotta get back in the habit of wearing makeup 😩 It's embarrassing how long I had that Givenchy powder and it ain't even open. Rosita raved about the translucent version so …

#Anti-Haul | My Brand Blacklist

In keeping with the Brand Awareness series, I was planning to do a Beauty Brands Drama series and discuss just that. The idea was scrapped cause really, I like to laugh and ting at dem tings but they don't truly matter in the grand scheme of life. What does matter though is that we be smart consumers. Let's not fall into mob mentality - whether for or against. Let's spend our money wisely and less susceptible to marketing ploys.

By all means, spend your money how you want. Like whichever brand you choose. Rep whomever influencer you "love". This is just my 10¢.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

I bought one of his liquid lipsticks; I wore it once and then I threw it away (I didn't like the scent). Yuh see, I actually believe that this man is just an entertainer. He likes to say things for shock value. He likes the limelight...loves the attention. What he actually believes? I don't know if we'll ever really know. What I know fuh sure though is that he ain't tu…

Bath and Body Works CocoShea Honeycomb Body Bar

Disclaimer: this product was provided by InYOUvations. This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Bath and Body Works has an entire CocoShea range. According to their site: "CocoShea blends two of nature's most nourishing ingredients — vitamin-packed cocoa butter and rich moisturizing shea butter — for the ultimate collection of skin-loving formulas." The Honey range promises to hydrate and smooth.

If you're familiar with the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Body Bars, you'd know that their soaps are relatively big. In fact, these are the biggest bar soaps I've ever used.
InYOUvations image
The soaps above retail, from InYOUvations, for $25 so the $20 price for the Honeycomb Body Bar didn't surprise me. Is it worth that though? From my experience once you like the scent it's definitely worth it due to how much product you get - 6 oz/ 170 g. I didn't think I was a fan of honey scents but this soap surprised me. The scent wasn't naus…

PM Skincare Routine

I had this on my blog post 'to do' list for the longest time. After much reflection I have discovered that I have no dedicated night time skincare routine. Let me explain. As I was telling Lasonta recently, you should give your skin what it's feeling for. The primary thing being hydration of course; drink your required daily intake of water. That may mean an acid toner one night and a beauty oil another. You may want to apply a lot of layers (thinnest to thickest please) or you might just want to stick to a serum or moisturizer. Some nights I wash my face and dassit. Listen to your skin.

That said...there are a lot of things in rotation over here. Please check out the links provided 🙇

REN Clean Skincare Clarimatte T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel is still my most repurchased. Currently I'm loving the Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser. The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser is still a favourite. If I'm washing my face at the sink I use s…

Uh Bariffle Ah Empties

More candle empties:

'Smoked Vanilla'
Recharge 'Sage + Mint'
'Fresh Balsam'

Everything here smells amazing. 'Smoked Vanilla' was recommendation from Natalie who said it smells like a Tom Ford fragrance. You should check out the entire Aromatherapy Recharge line!

'Harvest Coffee'
This is the first time a candle scent got stronger as it burned. Unfortunately, that scent was too much for me 😞 I had to give it away.

'Black Cherry Merlot' 'Lavender Coconut' 'Island Margarita'
'Black Cherry Merlot' is a standard repurchase in any form; hand soap, Wallflower refill, whatever. 'Island Margarita' is a classic. This candle scent fills the entire room and beyond. 'Lavender Coconut' was new to me but it did not disappoint; I'd repurchase.

'Farmstand Apple'
This is a nice, fresh, safe scent. It's re-released often.

'Mango Shores'

At this point I was just buying all the ones with the coloured jar…

Faves In Five | February 2018

Technically these are favourites for 2017 but hey who's counting...

Givenchy Khol Couture Retractable Eyeliners

Bold. Pigmented. Do not transfer to my contacts. Another great recommendation from Tara.

'05 Jade' and '04 Cobalt'
Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray 'Bridal'
Another Setting Spray comparison post is required, I know. For now just understand this is #TeamModenApproved. It features an excellent dispenser and works on oily skin.

Schmidt's Sensitive Skin Formula Natural Deodorant 'Jasmine Tea'
I've raved about this line of natural deodorant before. This is just an update to let you know that this one in particular is amazing!

Puressentiel Purifying Air Spray
If you have sinus problems this is must. I purchased this from Aqua Pharmacy.

Tom Ford Cheek Color - '03 Flush'
Yup. I'm still crushing on this.

Let us know what you've been loving recently in the comments.

Wish List Update

If you missed the first installment, catch up here 😊

Today we're looking back at February 2014.

Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil

Never got it. I'm lazy when it comes to brows. The L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper is where it's at (once my brows are already shaped).
Milani Baked Blush - '11 Bella Rosa'

Copped that. I haven't used it yet though. #shame Check out my Periscope about my blush collection here.

Lime Crime Velvetines - 'Red Velvet'
By now you know of the Lime Crime drama - the owner like she mad - and due to fraud on their site (more so how they handled the whole debacle) many beauty lovers have sworn off the brand all together. Thing is though, this Velvetine formula is bomb. So I'd purchase from Hautelook1 or at tradeshows. I'm planning to feature these in the next #LipSwatchWeek installment and I just released I still don't have 'Red Velvet'. 😕
rms beauty - "un" powder

Copped both the original format …

Eight Brands I Want To Try In 2018

Happy March 😊

I don't know about you but I'm always excited to check out a new beauty brand. Here's a run down of the ones I have my eye on.

Jordan Samuel Skin

Stephanie and Crystal are to blame for this line being on my wish list. The etOlLe with Retinol Treatment Oil is touted as a great alternative for the Sunday Riley Luna Oil. I'm also interested in trying his Mist. image
Sonia G.

The Beauty Blogger and Brush Connoisseur has created her own line of artisan brushes. All the reviews I've seen have been great. image
Mahalo Skin Care
Tara raves about this entire line. I'm interested in their Vitality Elixir and The Unveil Cleanser Melt Concentrate. image
Rani Cosmetics

I'm happy for Eshani. Her products have also received great reviews. image

Brianna has been talking about this skincare line for eons. Stephanie is also a fan of some of the Obagi-C line. …
