Samples Made Me Buy It

Fourth time around πŸ˜€ This toss I gotta big up travel sizes as well. Yuh ain't gine get to try a product for free in every situation but at least yuh could see if it suit yuh before shelling out the big bucks. Also, they're good for...wait for it...travelling with πŸ˜†Check out my 2017 favourites here.

May Coop Raw Sauce Hydrating + Nourishing Essence

Of all the essences in my current rotation this one has the "thickest" texture. That's a lil deceptive cause it's not thick...it's just that the others are clearly more fluid. If you are struggling with dehydrated skin try adding an essence to your routine.

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil

Love that pump action! Cleansing oils and balms are great for a "first cleanse". I'm sure you can find one cheaper than $33USD for 6 oz but I was impressed with how well this removes very pigmented mascara and eyelash glue. Thanks again to Sharalee for passing on that travel size 😘

Youth To The People Age Prevention Cleanser

Another Stephanie Nicole recommendation. Earlier this year when I had the heat rash from hell I wanted to use a gentle cleanser so I reached in the stash for this mini. This stuff is amazing. I didn't plan to buy the full size until the next VIB sale but then I saw it in store recently and said: #whynot πŸ™ˆ

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil

I was an Aveeno Shave Gel loyalist until I tried this product. It's a great shower oil (suds a little, leaves the skin hydrated) but more importantly it smells amazing.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea

I want to try all the scents in this range for the toner series. These are very affordable options ($12USD for 8 oz.). Remember to store your toners in the refrigerator for that added refreshed feeling.

Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

I gotta eat some crow here about not using typical moisturisers. "Air-whip" is a really good description because the texture is light, yet the product is very hydrating. No clammy residue; it's a moisturiser for oily skin people. Actually their website states: "Friendly for all skin types, best for combo/oily."

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

The beauty industry is really ovadoing it with the releases cause they realise consumers are just lapping it up. We really need to take stock of what we have and be more mindful of what we're purchasing.

Personally I'm at a point where not much excites me and I truly need to cut my eye at the people tings 😁 That and Auntie Mia wanna put VAT on online purchases πŸ‘€I dunno how we gine survive bout hey! Of course I still wanna support the local M.A.C counters and attend Beauty Tradeshows so I gotta be realistic. A low buy suits me just fine.
