Most Expensive Skincare

I love looking through the blog and seeing if my thoughts have changed. In this case, I'm updating this post but limiting it to skincare. The other difference is, I've not formulated my final position on every product so I can't call it a favourites post. Here are some of the most expensive skincare items I've tried to date.

Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum - $185USD

Stephanie Nicole raved about this when it released and I was hooked. I haven't reviewed it as yet because I'm still not sure if it's worth the price. That said, I think it's a product I would repurchase because I've grown to love the scent and I can use it when my skin is extremely sensitive. I've seen numerous reviews - posted by the brand for what they're worth - saying that this has replaced numerous steps in skincare routines. If you think of it like that, it's worth it. This is labelled as a serum but it's a facial oil.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) - $99USD

I got this in a set and while it was a great value, this essence isn't worth that price. If you want to experience the raved about SK-II product I would suggest the sheet mask.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) -

Omorovicza Miracle Facial Oil - $120USD

Another product you haven't seen mentioned but it'll be up soon in a Beauty Oil Woes comparison post. I'm realising I buy a lot of expensive things from Beautylish cause yuh could split up the payments 😆

Vintner's Daughter Active Treatment Essence - $225USD

Yikes! Still in the testing phase.

When I purchased this it was $60. It's also interesting to see how prices increase over time 😑 I would repurchase though.

May Lindstrom The Jasmine Garden -

Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules - $287BDS DP

Travel essential.

Sisley-Paris Confort Extrême Nutritive Lip Balm - $74USD

The things I buy for comparison purposes. Sigh. This will definitely be featured in a Save or Splurge post.

Mahalo Skin Care The Rare Indigo Beauty Balm - $110USD

A dry skin saviour.

Mahalo Skin Care The Rare Indigo Beauty Balm -

The Rolls Royce of acid toners. I'm on my third bottle.

Doth not recommend.

Let us know what's the most you've spent on skincare in the comments.

  1. Maybe when my skin gets it together I can do a skincare review! I think I'm saved by this because I can't buy expensive skincare products for this reason!

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Uh Barrifle Ah Empties

More garbage 😆

Let's start with hair stuff.

I love the Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla scent; their leave-in conditioner is a standard repurchase. Healthy Kinks Botanicals is a local brand that I support. Scalp oil? Yes. Twist and Style Cream? Yes yes. That Kopari "coconut melt" thing is an overpriced literally cash grab. It's just coconut oil folks. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist again, standard repurchase. Lastly, Olaplex No. 3, presently I think this is the only product in the Olaplex range that's worth the money.

Body stuff:

Do I truly need to try so many body washes when I purchase Eden's Choice Naturals soap regularly? Absolutely not. I gotta cut back. Still, Mario Badescu A.H.A soap is a must have if you deal with body acne. Also. that new-ish Bath and Body Works 'Love' Jasmine + Sandalwood scent is everything.

Smell goods:

Repurchases all. Puressentiel really needs to make that Respiratory Air Spray in a huge can. 20 ml is not enough.
