Project 15 Pan

Make Out 2014 went up in flames. There was still lots of travelling and shoes but also lots of makeup and a ridiculous amount of nail polish. Let's hope 2015's challenge is more successful.

Project Pan videos are becoming increasingly popular on YouTube; in fact there's a whole Project Pan subset in the beauty community. From watching a couple of those ladies it has become truly apparent how long it takes to use certain things up. All the more reason to pass on things that you don't really love AND slow down on the purchasing.

Here are the 15 items I'm hoping to finish this year or at least hit major pan.

M.A.C Bronzing Powder 'Refined Golden'

Got this solely for the packaging to be honest and haven't even swatched it since the Summer before last.

M.A.C Studio Fix 'NC50'

This has to be one of the first M.A.C products I ever bought. Yeah, time to use this up.

M.A.C Paint Pot 'Quite Natural'

Ever since I bought 'Laying Low' I barely use this. I really can't let all this product go to waste. Yuh know cream products have a shorter shelf life than powder ones.

Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation 'Deep'

Since the very beginning of the Foundation Series I haven't put this on muh face.

Estee Lauder Pure Color 'Blushing', NYX Black Label 'Sand' and Milani 'Teddy Bare' (counted individually)

This is where it's gonna get interesting. For as many lipsticks as I have...pray for me!

Korres Lip Butter 'Mango'

This gon' be easy. I really like this formula.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil 'Perversion'

As much cult status as this has I've only ever swatched two years.

M.A.C 'Electro Lush', 'Sassy Lassy' and 'Frozen Dream' (counted as 1)

I bought these in a set from the Tartan Tale Christmas Collection. Yup, eons ago. Time to go. I actually really like 'Electro Lush'; if you know of a dupe for it that's in the permanent collection holla.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner 'Enchantment'

I have a lot of lip liners so I figured it was only fair to include one. This is another YouTube cult favourite.

Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow 'Euphoria'

From watching Project Pan videos I know that cream blushes take the absolute longest to finish. Still, I've had this for about two years and I definitely need to show it more love. Wayne Goss raved about these a few years ago.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Oil Free) 'Walnut'

Another product I've had for a hot minute. This will be no issues to use up though as I mostly pull this out for lip swatches posts.

Milani Minerals Blush 'Sunset Beach'

I decided to pick a blush shade I know I love. This baby has been in my collection for a long time. It's one of Destiny Godley's all time favourites.

M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer 'NC45'

Do not be fooled by this small pot; so much product is in this thing.

I challenge Sharalee, Blair, Victoria and Karolynn to finish 15 products this year. Special challenge to Heidi, Celina and The Mistress to finish 15 lipsticks.

Anyone that wants to take part please do! Let's share our progress pictures with the hashtag #TeamModenProject15

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Purified Lactic Acid: One of the most hydrating Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of t…

The Makeup Show L.A. 2017

I know, I know...I get back eva since. The task was trying to figure out if to separate the experience post from the haul. Let's lump it all together shall we? Prepare to scroll.

Sharalee thinks that this show had more of an uptight crowd. There were a lot of celebrity -and celebrated - professional makeup artists. Still, I didn't get the vibe that is was less friendly than New York. The Makeup Show on a whole has a more serious feel than IMATS. The Pros are about knowledge sharing and networking. Of course the brands are there to sell products but that doesn't seem to be the frenzied focus. Lots of shots are taken at Instagram trends and click bait marketing 😁These are real lovers of the craft that don't take kindly to fly-by-night 'online influencers'. That said, the brands have embraced social media and a few current marketing mediums #obvs
L.A. didn't have a Beauty Tour like the New York version but there was a Beauty Brunch on the day before the Show …
