Product Rave: Eden's Choice Naturals Soaps and Scrubs

My first experience with Eden's Choice was at Girlfriends Expo this year. Their Instagram bio states: "Eden's Choice is a 100% Barbadian owned and operated business supplying naturally vegan skin care products".

I was drawn to their peppermint soaps at the Expo but there were so many options that I tried a few of the others.

I enjoyed all of the soaps that I purchased. Of course I am partial to 'Peppermint' but 'Lavender & Eucalyptus' was a surprise favourite. The other scents are 'Almond Butter', 'Almond Rose', 'Buttercream', 'Butterfly Garden', 'Cinnarose', 'Citrus Burst', 'Eden's Spell', 'Honeysuckle', 'Lemon', 'One Love', 'Oatmeal & Honey', 'Kiwi Cucumber', 'Frangipani', 'Tea Tree Oil & Bentonite Clay', and 'Vanilla'.

The real real shockers were the body scrubs. Before these the only scrub I enjoyed was the Bath and Body Works Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint one. I looooove the scent of that one. Love LOVE...but halfway through the product the scrub-to-oil ratio gets a little wonky. Thank God it's in a plastic tub 'cause that could be a disaster. The ones from Eden's Choice are packaged in a glass container though. Initially I thought, uh oh. Oily scrub in a wet shower. Problems. Thankfully the consistency of those ones are perfect. No excessive oils making maneuvering tedious. No slippery floors. Perfectly sized scrubbies. Just lovely.

My sole complaint, and it's a minor one, is that after awhile the label deteriorates. It's not even a real issue. #beautybloggerproblems

The soaps are usually $6 but sometimes they offer a 4 for $20 special. While they are smaller than the Dr. Bronner's ones I usually purchase they're also cheaper. The scrubs are $17 and worth every cent.

Give them a try, you won't regret it. 253-9053 to order. #rep246

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

#Anti-Haul | My Brand Blacklist

In keeping with the Brand Awareness series, I was planning to do a Beauty Brands Drama series and discuss just that. The idea was scrapped cause really, I like to laugh and ting at dem tings but they don't truly matter in the grand scheme of life. What does matter though is that we be smart consumers. Let's not fall into mob mentality - whether for or against. Let's spend our money wisely and less susceptible to marketing ploys.

By all means, spend your money how you want. Like whichever brand you choose. Rep whomever influencer you "love". This is just my 10¢.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

I bought one of his liquid lipsticks; I wore it once and then I threw it away (I didn't like the scent). Yuh see, I actually believe that this man is just an entertainer. He likes to say things for shock value. He likes the limelight...loves the attention. What he actually believes? I don't know if we'll ever really know. What I know fuh sure though is that he ain't tu…
