Worth The Hype #LipSwatchWeek

Lasonta said she wanted to see the lip version to this post so here goes.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color

Though the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, the quality of these lipsticks can not be denied. Impeccable pigment which also lends to longevity and they're comfortable to wear. These receive a lot of YouTube hype also because they're very affordable.

MrsLolaLynn and LipglossLeslie were singing the praises of this line from the time it was launched; but it was when my #HaulHero Tarababyz said that this formula compared to the Tom Ford mattes that I was truly impressed. As with the aforementioned lipsticks, these too won't break the bank.

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon

Another YouTube darling. "Bite is beauty for lips that’s good enough to eat. With highly pigmented, trend-forward color palettes, Bite’s hydrating formulas are infused with food-grade ingredients—so your lips feel as gorgeous as they look". These crayon styled lippies are easy to apply and are available in gorgeous shades. Though I like all the Bite Beauty products I've tried thus far, their Luminous Creme lipsticks and this Barbadian heat doan add up; but the Matte Creme formula appears to be less prone to melting and breaking. Maybe it's just the packaging?

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Natalie, Lisa and Marnie are the culprits this toss. I always took a look at these in Cave Shepherd but those rave reviews encouraged me to pull the trigger. I currently have 'Nude Shimmer' and I really want the other five shades. This formula is so moisturizing I often catch myself putting it on before bed. Loooooooooooooooooooooooove.

M.A.C Lipsticks (especially in limited edition packaging)

This is part 'pride of ownership', part collector nuance. I wish M.A.C would stop raising their prices but alas, I still purchase these damn things. In Barbados, M.A.C is well known and loved due to their extensive shade options for our complexion. Their lipsticks are especially well loved because of the scent, mid range price, variety of finishes and limited edition packaging.

Before you ask: yes, I do keep the exterior packaging.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

It's A Dupe!

Long time no dupe.

Corny? I know. I try.

Faithful readers would have seen me rave about the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a.k.a Face Cement, numerous times. Well, we have a dupe: The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I knew it instantly. So instantly that I've used the MUFE twice and decided that it's ridiculous to keep both since they are the same.

You can read all about the Becca primer in the link above so I'm just going to talk about the MUFE version here.
