Brand Awareness: NYX Cosmetics

www.stauntons.ie image NYX / Niks/ Noun : Goddess of the night. Another inexpensive brand that really needs no introduction since it is so popular. The company was founded in 1999 by Toni Ko. Hers is a success story since " she is a first generation in America, having immigrated to Los Angeles from Korea at the age of 13 and didn’t speak a word of English. Toni started NYX from a 600 square foot space in California at the age of 25 – when she realized there was a gap in the cosmetic markets between prestige brands sold in department stores and mass brands sold in drugstores. Her goal was to offer professional, richly pigmented products at affordable prices. Initially, she sold just one product: makeup pencils. That first year, she generated over two million dollars in sales with just 1 employee – her. Soon her products were flying off the shelves at retail giants like Target TGT +0.00% , CVS and Ulta " [1] . In 2014 the company was sold to L'Oreal. Thei

Metallic Manicures For Old Year's Night

Ahhhh Old Year's Night (New Year's Eve for international readers), the main time it's perfectly normal to 'shine bright like a diamond' from head to toe. I'm just talking about fingernails here though. Metallic polishes aren't my favourites since some show brush strokes very prominently and basically make you look like an amateur. However, they're so gorgeous I can't resist. Check out some of my favourites: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear 'Coin Flip'  I think this should be a staple in everyone's collection. Cheap and sweet: so sweet I also featured it in a Top Five Fall Polishes that was featured on Dee's blog . Orly 'Rage' Y'all gotta be sick hearing about this by now. Liquid rose gold man. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) 'Poison' I am such a huge fan of dark manicures that I don't even mind the possible brush strokes. This is another great formula from OCC just be careful to w

Uh Bariffle Ah Empties

Bariffle - Bajan slang - meaning a whole lot; synonym for "nuff nuff". Here ends this evening's lesson. Recently on Instagram I've been posting my empties. This is a YouTube fad that crossed over to other social media platforms where vloggers show what they've actually used up and share their thoughts. Sorta anti-consumerism, the ethos is to use up what you already have and inform others of what's worth spending their money on. I don't think it's stopped me from shopping altogether, as you can plainly see , but it has caused me to be more aware of the stash. And who can deny that satisfying feeling of finally getting to the bottom of something. Ahhhhhh . Be sure to check out the links where applicable for more product information. The most addictive scent from Bath and Body Works for me this year - really since last year - has been 'Black Cherry Merlot'. I try a lot of the seasonal ones that they release as well but that one is a stap

My Love/Hate Relationship With Persa-gel 10

This could have been a ' Would I Repurchase? ' post if only I could make up my mind... #TeamModen has told you numerous times that Clear Zit is totally #TeamModenApproved. That's the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide formula not the 2% Salicylic Acid version. Seen in Collins [Click photo to shop] Not only does it have the same active ingredient as other 'bigger brand' over the counter acne medication; it's a fraction of the price. Collins couldn't keep that on the shelves long enough and honestly I never finished an entire tube because as soon as Heidi ran out of hers she would commander mine. This post isn't about Clear Zit though or why we're mad AF that Collins replaced it with an imposter. It's about the way more expensive Persa-gel 10 from Clean & Clear. Seen in Paradise Beauty Supply [Click photo to shop] From the site : " What's great about it - CLEAN & CLEAR® PERSA-GEL® 10 Acne Medication is a unique formula
