Love.

Happy Valentine's Day...if you're into that sort of thing.

While capitalism will sensationalize any event/Season/occurrence to get us to spend money and then market it that's how you show love, that isn't what I'm talking about now.

I wanted to remind you to love yourself, first and foremost. I know, I know. Cheesy right? But hear me out. We talk a lot about makeup here; y'all know I too love a lipstick but don't let any forum, any medium - not even #TeamModen - convince you that you need any superficial thing to be beautiful. You most certainly don't need anyone to be whole. The media machine is driven to flood you with insecurities since if you're unaware you'd be constantly seeking an outward solution. And that's where the big bucks are - putting plasters on the sores that are insecurities.

There is no outward solution.

Love yourself cause you're enough. Do the things that make you a better person and make no apologies for it.

Love yourself like Logan loves himself ;) That sounds so Kanye-ish!

I hope the coming week is your best one yet.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.

Unlike my Influencers post the persons mentioned below are all local and I know them. If that makes me biased then you should take everything I'm about to say with a grain of salt.

Heidi Bowen of Moden Makeup

Let's get the obvious one out of the way shall we 😉 I've said before how much I've learned watching Heidi conduct her Workshops. Since then she has increased her skillset, restructured her modules and truly focused on knowledge sharing. Every participant departs feeling enlightened; emboldened to try something they once thought was daunting. No one leaves empty handed. This kindda thing speaks to me because I've attended many M.A.C classes and saw the value only in the products I was reimbursed. Not to say, the outing isn't a good time - especially if you go with friends - but some settings leave you more intimidated than excited. #TeamModen affiliations aside, I can see how Heidi has grown as a Beauty Educator. And fuh my one part I know any session booked…
