Full Face First Impressions

Wouldn't it be great if I could do this once a week? Ah well, one can hope. The backlog of untried products round here is ridiculous. Ri-dic-cu-lous. This was really all to try that NYX Strobe of Genius palette (p.s. if you want to #TryItWithMe check out my Instagram soon-ish). Usual rating to follow. M.A.C Lip Scrumptious 'Sweet Vanilla' - undecided (I'm not a fan of potted lip scrubs but so far so good) Neutrogena Shine Control Primer - totally forgot to use it 😒 Black Opal True Color Pore Perfecting Liquid Foundation 'Nutmeg' - undecided (wrong shade; had to mix it with the Maybelline Matte + Poreless '355 Coconut' ) Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer 'Deep' - pass rms beauty tinted "un" powder '3-4' - pass (used it to set the concealer) Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow 'Rio De Rose Gold' - undecided (gorgeous shade; it would crease if you apply too much) Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Re

Intimate Waxing | My First Brazilian Wax Experience (Adults Only) 18+

My lovelies!!! I know I know, it's been awhile. I been booked. Corny, but that's why you love me! GRAPHIC CONTENT. PLEASE BEWARE. It was an intimate wax, so please keep an open mind. Onto the meat of the matter. SHOUT OUT to Roshane My Wax Therapist The Pretty Kitty , and the sweetest, most patient, gentle soul ever to place their hands on my glorious gin gina (as my baby boo Chiara) calls her vagina. I have been toying with the idea of showing before and after photos of Petal (that is what I call my vagina) but the husband declared it was a no from him in the early. Sorry, my nether regions are not for public viewing. I am truly devastated. Show and tell is my lifeblood 😂 When I booked the appointment with Roshane it was for a leg wax. And then I changed my mind. Upon realizing that it was time to get rid of my hair down there I  really didn't relish the idea of Nair chemically singeing my parts.  So I went with my big fashion self and said Roshane let'

Full Face First Impressions

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2017

Well this is the latest "unboxing" ever. Laparkan had me on pause because something in this box was classified as hazardous. Since I had no idea what was in the package, I was very lost as to what to do. Thankfully, it was all finally sorted out and I didn't have to pay the ridiculous $300 USD hazmat fee. So, if you're not familiar with this whole shindig, every Boxing Day Beautylish offers a "lucky bag". It's $75 USD plus shipping, you don't know what's in the bag but they guarantee at least double the value. What's ironic is that when I first got the notification that these - and the new XL bags ($150 USD ) - were available I say nahhhh man I gine be good. Then a few days later I got another email saying some were available again and I tell myself: self, this is fate! Everything comes beautifully and carefully wrapped; standard Beautylish style. Did I get my money's worth? Well right away I was very excited to see so

More Micellar Cleansing Water Woes

If you haven't read part one of this product comparison please do so before you continue. At the time writing the first edition I knew I would have another entry. Sharalee raves about the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water and I was on the hunt for Simple Micellar Water. The latter is still not available locally but I lucked out in Puerto Rico . So here we are. As I mentioned previously, I do not buy into the "no rinse" hype of any of these. To remove makeup I employ a triple cleanse method. If you aren't using a regular cleanser after a micellar water please pay attention to the ingredients. I think I got this from Walgreens. Currently their site has it listed for $7.79 USD . Given that you only get 6.7 fl. oz. the Garnier is the most cost effective drugstore option that I've tried. As advertised, it contains no artificial perfume or dyes. The packaging is pretty basic; Bioderma still wins in that department. Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Hexylene Glycol,

#Anti-Haul | What I'm Not Going To Buy (Local Edition)

In previous anti-haul posts I've only mentioned things I could buy online. I think we do a bit more research when we don't have the option of instant gratification. This toss I'm mentioning products I've seen on shelves in Barbados. Since the Moden Mavenz  are trying to save more this year, I'm trying to cool these trigger fingers when I see new products in M.A.C, Collins, iMart, Styles n Beauty , Mozaic etc. Trying . Anyho, below are things I'm abstaining from purchasing and why. Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Y'all know I sooooooooooooooooooooooo behind on those liquid lipstick comparisons . And everytime yuh look round another brand releasing more. I tap out Fam. I have seen reviews saying that these are similar to the recently launched NARS Velvet Lip Glides (I ain't buying any of those either). One thing yuh can't deny though, the price is right. As seen in Caribbean Queen Bio Balance Skincare This brand get popular

Faves In Five | February 2017

I hope this finds you well. That's what people start correspondence with when yuh ain't hear them for a while right? Sigh . What can I say folks? I like I in a funk 😞 Favourites are a good way to get back into the swing of things so let's do that. Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil Lip oils blew up on the makeup scene a few months ago and I was resisting the hype...til I saw three of these in a set on Nordstrom. Y'all know I love their Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I'm currently working on a comparison between these and the Milani ones but for now just know I think these are worth the money. Wear them as a prep for liquid lipsticks, wear them to bed, wear them when yuh feeling get the drift. And they smell amazing ! '02 Raspberry' Speaking of comfort... First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lotion Thin/light yet so moisturising. This is the lotion for people who hate lotion because they
