Used and Abused Makeup Products Tag

Nicole Renee Cutler created this tag at the request of one of her subscribers. I think it's a great idea. We see beauty vloggers/influencers get a lot of free products from companies. We also see them declutter loads of stuff that they've never touched or maybe just swatched. But what products do they actually like? This may be a good indicator. Fuh my one part, my used and abused products are stale news. Please click on the links provided for more information  😉If these thing look beat up, well...that's all the more proof. Hourglass Veil Mineral and Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector primers still rule the day. I have added a few new primers to my testing rotation but so far these two are still my failsafe. I'm also on my second bottle of e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set which I use to spray by foundation brush or beauty sponge before use. I'm not a fan of the "baking" trend so my loose powders last me a while. So far, the Make-up De

Mask Monday | Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

While the prices may give you sticker shock, the fancy packaging really lures you in. And if you're #skincareobsessed like us , you definitely want to know if the products are worth the hype. So it goes with the Tata Harper brand. When the ladies at Pure Source Barbados hosted a demo featuring the brand I had to see what's what. After Dana took us through the paces I purchased a kit as an introduction to the line. The resurfacing mask was the first thing I tried. From her site: " Size: 1 fl oz, 30 ml. Blush Declutter

Ever since the eyeshadow declutter I knew I'd eventually have to go through the entire collection. To make it easier on myself I decided to tackle this in stages. After this round I'll put the "maybes" to test and see what more I can part with at the end of the year. When I did The Blush Tag I was reminded of how many blushes I had that were being underutilized. It's a shame truly. After some decluttering , depotting and reorganisation the collection still could use some trimming. To see the full rundown check out my Periscope . The only thing here that needs to be trashed is the Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow blush . I tried man but I rarely remember to use cream products. I really don't want to part with my Maybelline blush but sighhhhhhhhhhhhh how many mauve blushes can a girl need? Tarte blushes apply to the face wayyyyy better than they swatch but I still believe that the Tarte full sized blushes are better than the mini ones . Thanks to the

Mask Monday | Vitamasques Bamboo Charcoal Mask

This review is extra special because I didn't write it 😀Very often in the past I've given one of my friends a product to try so I could include their experience in a review. It's truly 'the more the merrier' around here: we can't possibly know everything therefore when we all share our thoughts the better we all will be for it. So when I decided to buy a new sheet mask I say lemme get one for Marsha since she's been asking about pore tightening products. She was under no obligation to do a review ; I just asked that she let me know how it worked. Marsha clearly decided to #updeting...and mek my eyes spring water in the process. Here is her review on the Vitamasques Bamboo Charcoal Mask: "I am a regular reader of the Moden Makeup blog and value Lucinda and Heidi ’s opinions on makeup, but especially on skin care products... so, I was more than eager to give my two cents worth on the Vitamasques Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying + Pore Tightening Korea

Faves In Five | Blush Brushes

Feels like I ain't do a favourites post in forever so I say lemme get back on the horse. Looking at my brush collection recently I thought: another declutter is due. That lead to realising that they're some brushes I won't part with no matter how big (read: ridiculous) my collection gets. Here are the best blush I've used to date: Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek I've found that these more coarse natural hair angled brushes are great for working with compact formulas like the NARS Dual-Intensity or M.A.C Extra Dimension. A cheaper alternative that I also recommend is the bdellium tools Studio 942 Slanted Contour .  M.A.C 109 Small Contour Brush This one I love primarily for its size. I appreciate the blending control I have especially when I'm adding another blush shade just to the apples of my cheeks.  Hakuhodo J511BkSL This has a smaller surface area than the Zoeva and, more importantly, much softer brush hairs. The quality of the Hak
