Sampled Out

This is another series previously featured on my Instagram but I feel it deserves more space. Much like the Project Pan community, there's a substantial group of people on YouTube actively trying to use up their samples. Samples and trial sizes can really accumulate if you don't mindfully use them. In this format I'd have more space to tell you if it's something I would purchase, the cost of the full size etc. etc.

Skincare samples - www.modenmakeup.com

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 0.25 fl oz US

I was happy to have this sample to travel with. Many YouTubers rave about this body cream and after going through the 2.5 oz tub I get it. It's very moisturising and the scent lasts on the skin. A full 8.1 oz retails for $45USD. That's steep to me...especially since I have so many Eden's Choice lotions to get through. Maybe I'll purchase that at a later date.

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream 0.05 oz

Right off yuh know these foil packets don't contain much product. I got two uses out of this one. The 0.5 oz size retails for $85USD while the 2 oz is $325USD. Uuuuggghhh no thanks. I mean it felt fine on the skin but I can't see myself spending that kinda money for a moisturizer.

SebaMed Visio Gentle Toner 15ml

This was another great travel size. Heidi hooked me up with a few SebaMed samples and I'm pleased to say this was nice. I've seen this locally in Fashion Box and Cherish. SebaMed strangely didn't have a price for this on their website.

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil 2.5 fl oz

#issaMust I told you about it here. 8.4 oz retails for $25USD and I already have one of those.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish 0.4 0z

This is a gentle exfoliator but I wasn't a fan. 3.4 oz retails for $32USD; I feel that would last a while but whereas the value is ok I don't think the product is worth it. Sephora's description claims that this cleanses but I would suggest using on already clean skin. Once again I'm thankful to have a sample (thanks Sharalee) cause Laura Mercier is a brand that I like.

Let us know what samples you've used up recently in the comments.

Sampled Out | Perfumes

Well howdy to a flaming 2020 💣

Ok, let's remain positive and do what we have to to beat this thing.

If you're looking for a brief escape from the onslaught of bad news, #nojudgementzone here. Let me hop back into this blogging thing for a much needed source of distraction and hopefully; a lil product information.

We've never really talked about perfumes before so let's do that:

Maison Margiela REPLICA 'Dancing On The Moon' 0.04 fl. oz.

Description: "Dancing On The Moon is an invitation to an extraterrestrial escape.
The fragrance delicately combines a bouquet of white flowers with a soft mineral side.
White Jasmine flower is lifted by aldehydes and moonflower notes.
As the perfume evolves, the warmer notes of ambergris, musk and vanilla emerge.

Feel the weightlessness of your body slip away from reality.
Your ethereal moves cast pale shadows on the lunar landscape.
A gracious defiance.

This bright Eau de Parfum is part of the Replica Fantasies Collection.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.
