Howdy. How are yuh?

Sampled Out December 2019 - www.modenmakeup.com

I still like (and buy) makeup, I swear, but skincare is soooooooooo much easier to get through.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild 15 ml

Labelled in Clinique's '3-Step Skin Care' System as 'Step 1' this is a basic clear gel cleanser. One thing about Clinique products, a little goes a long way. This little tube has accompanied me on many a trip. I wouldn't purchase a full size - biggest size is 13.5 fl. oz. / 400 ml for $29.50USD - only because I'm already in love with the gel cleanser from Youth To The People. This 'mild' version is recommended for "very dry, dry and dry combination" skin types but I think anyone can use it.

REN Clean Skincare T-Zone Balancing Day Fluid 15 ml

"A day fluid that will balance combination skin to leave the complexion looking clear, even toned and beautifully healthy." #TeamModen are big fans of REN Clean Skincare and this product is no different. This is a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into the skin and provides adequate moisture. This product has been re-branded as the Clarimatte T-Zone Balancing Gel Cream and
50 ml retails locally for $41USD at Pure Source. The Clarimatte line is recommended for combination/oily skin types. #TeamModenApproved

Sunday Riley Good Genes 8 ml

Y'all already know this is a #fav. I feel like this container barely had in anything though 😂

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner 15 ml

My good-up Sis Sharalee hooked me up with this travel sized beauty and I am very grateful. I'm a fan of exfoliating toners and this "5% Glycolic Acid, Aloe Vera & Ginseng" one is a great mild one. Well mild to me since I'm accustomed to using acid toners. This toner has cult status and has led to Pixie Beauty creating an entire 'Glow Tonic' range. If you want to try something similar that you can purchase locally get the REN Clean Skincare Ready Steady Glow Tonic. Please note, if you have sensitive skin always patch test acid toners first.

Tata Harper Clarifying Mask 7.5 ml

This mask is green in colour and scent 😂 "A complexion perfecting treatment that targets impurities to restore healthy, balanced, and clear skin. Best for uneven texture, redness, or blemish prone skin."
As with all thing Miss Tata, this is expensive; 1 fl. oz. costs $72USD. I used this any time my skin felt congested or overly oily. It tingled upon application and didn't dry down incredibly stiff like a typical clay mask. Tata says it's a "salicylic acid + lactic acid blemish mask" so acne prone skin should love it. Again, sensitive skin people beware.

Sampled Out | Perfumes

Well howdy to a flaming 2020 💣

Ok, let's remain positive and do what we have to to beat this thing.

If you're looking for a brief escape from the onslaught of bad news, #nojudgementzone here. Let me hop back into this blogging thing for a much needed source of distraction and hopefully; a lil product information.

We've never really talked about perfumes before so let's do that:

Maison Margiela REPLICA 'Dancing On The Moon' 0.04 fl. oz.

Description: "Dancing On The Moon is an invitation to an extraterrestrial escape.
The fragrance delicately combines a bouquet of white flowers with a soft mineral side.
White Jasmine flower is lifted by aldehydes and moonflower notes.
As the perfume evolves, the warmer notes of ambergris, musk and vanilla emerge.

Feel the weightlessness of your body slip away from reality.
Your ethereal moves cast pale shadows on the lunar landscape.
A gracious defiance.

This bright Eau de Parfum is part of the Replica Fantasies Collection.

Sunday Riley Good Genes versus Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

If you're an avid YouTube watcher you've probably heard about these products. Both brands blew up on the skincare seen in short order as expensive, but effective. If you're like me you quickly began to wonder: which is better? Short answer: it depends.

Long answer...

I've mentioned Good Genes a few times before on the blog. This 'all-in-one lactic acid treatment' is raved about by the likes of Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons.

From the box: "Deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes*

*Clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes. Results obtained via profilometry analysis.
